Who Will Be Representing The NFC In The Superbowl?

DeAnte MitchellDec 5, 2009

The Minnesota Vikings will participate in Superbowl XLIV.

The Minnesota Vikings will represent the NFC because of their fierce defense. The Vikings defense has recorded 40 sacks, forced 17 fumbles, and only allowing 3.9 yards per carry to opposing running backs.

The Minnesota offense is also a reason. Brett Favre has only threw 3 interceptions this year, that the least for any starting Quarterback in the NFL. He has thrown for 2,874 yards and 24 touchdowns.Brett has a passer rating of 112.1 and a 69.3 completion rate. He connected on 10 40+ passing plays, and 37 20+ plays. Brett Favre has been so effective due to the ability to run the ball.

With Adrian Peterson in the backfield running for 1,084 for 12 touchdowns. Sidney Rice catching 56 passes for 964 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Minnesota offense is ranked in the top 5, and their offensive unit poses a threat to opposing defenses.

Percy Harvin is a big reason why the Vikings are (10-1). Percy Harvin is a dangerous receiver who caught 42 passes for 602 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also returned 31 kickoffs two in which went for touchdowns. Teams have a hard time containing Harvin as his speed poses a huge threat for opposing teams.

The Minnesota Vikings have the complete team. They have a balanced offense that can beat you on the ground or in the air. A good offensive line, a great tight end, and a tremendous pass rusher in Jared Allen. Their defensive unit can rush the passer, stop the run, and force turnovers. The special teams unit can make stops, pin you inside the 20 and also get into the end zone.
