Top 3 Batsmen To Keep an Eye On During The Asia Cup!
The Asia Cup is really close and I decided to have an indepth look at some players who could set the tournament alight,I've picked three batsmen who could be the "difference makers" during the tournament.
Sanath Jayasuria (Sri Lanka) :
This 38 year old batting maestro is probably the best attacking batsman in limited overs cricket. What better proof of this then his performance during the Indian Premier League where he scored 514 runs in 14 matches with best of 114* for the Mumbai Indians.
Wised-up opponents have learned to set traps in the gully and at third man to stem the flow of runs, but, when on song, he can be virtually unstoppable, capable of scoring freely on both sides of the wicket.
Jayasuriya is also an extremely effective and canny left-arm spinner, especially in one-day internationals where his stock leg-stump darts are mixed up with clever variations in pace.
Needless to say Sanath Jayasuria is certainly a lad to keep an eye on.
Gautam Gambhir (India) :
Gautam Gambhir has come a long way from where he was some 12 months ago. The 26 year old opener scored a match winning knock of 87 in the final of T20 World Cup in South Africa.
Gambhir scored 534 runs in 14 matches during the IPL in which he was the second best batsman behind Shaun Marsh.
During the recently concluded tri-nation tournament in Bangladesh, he was the tournament's best batsman scoring 209 runs at an average of 104 during the three games, only Pakistan's Salman Butt could match his heroics during the tournament.
Watch out for this lad,he's in form and on song!
Misbah ul Haq (Pakistan) :
What a find Misbah has been for Pakistan! This 34 year old is remarkably fit and is used to being in and out of the team, but over the past year he has not only cemented his place in the Pakistan team but has also grown to become one of the most aggressive batsmen in world cricket today.
He scored 96 runs during the three games in Bangladesh where he was used as a pinch hitter.
He has an average of 35 in 35 games scoring 906 runs in ODI's but Pakistani supporters will hope he can convert his good form from T20 cricket to ODI's.
Also Keep an eye on Yuvraj Singh,Rohit Sharma,Mahendra Singh Dhoni,Younis Khan,Salman Butt,Shahid Afridi,Mohammad Yousuf,Mahela Jayawardena,Kumara Sangakara and Mohammad Ashraful
