Tough week for the Spartans..
Tough week for the Spartans.. I have thought about this crap all week.. stewing in my own juices.. Not sure what to say or write.. kind of confused by whats transpired in Rather Hall...
The Michigan State football program has been working very hard to improve the reputation, culture and direction the program. As an Alumni and fan, I believe Coach Dantonio’s goal is the national stage meaning national championship, not the national stage the Football players who were the thugs involved in the Rather Hall fight.
Actions like this effect the University, students, Football program, all MSU athletics, the fan base and Alumni. It is not only the football players involved, all of us who love MSU feel the impact of this, its felt in various degrees by everyone.

I will wait for the investigation to finish and see what comes out in the press. But, for those that are found guilty of participation and physical involvement, harsh penalties are demanded, so that a message to all. Dismissal from the University and Team. And if conclusion or charges are not finalized at or before the bowl game, no suspect should be allowed on the field, not a single one of them.
But, the already dismissed player Glenn Winston, is especially a sad case. He was given second chance, a possibility to redeem himself and go forward as a respectful Spartan citizen. He crapped on that in a hurry.. What a terrible way to treat a man who tried to believe in you and give you another shot.
Not knowing Coach Dantonio, I have to believe that he has tried to teach the players about self-control and give them enough discipline and to understand the difference between right and wrong for being a steward for the Spartan reputation.
Coach Dantonio needs to make a stern stand, and send a clear message to the media, athletes of all sports, future players, current players, staff, students, Alumni, and fan base.
I still have faith in Coach “D” and the program and direction, even though shaken by this event. I am sure he will do the right thing. I believe he is working to put Michigan State football on a long term path for success.
Proverbs 13:24 - Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. Hebrews 12:11 - For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
