Smoke Signals: Fake Redskins cheerleader
Saints QB Drew Brees is arguably the best player in the NFL right now and he’s scorched better teams than Washington, so, uh, look out for that. Read it.
"He leads the NFL with a 112.6 passer rating (the Minnesota Vikings’ Brett Favre is second at 112.1). He also leads the league with 27 touchdown passes and has thrown for 3,117 yards while completing 68.8 percent of his passes. In the Saints’ 38-17 victory over the Patriots on Monday might, Brees threw for 371 yards and five touchdowns.

Making matters worse, don’t expect to see CB DeAngelo Hall in uniform this Sunday, when he’s needed the most against a top passing offense. CNN calls this Sunday a trap game for the Saints, with New Orleans trying to avoid a letdown on a short week after arguably the biggest win in franchise history on Monday night. I think that’s right, but it still shouldn’t be enough to allow a bad Redskins team to hang with a very good Saints team for more than a quarter or two. Read it.
I can good news and bad news. The good news is that Vinny Cerrato will not do his painfully awful radio show this morning. The bad news is that he won’t do the show because he’s on a scouting trip. Personally, I prefer him on the radio, where he can do less damage. Read it.
