This signing brings up a question: Whose team is this, Andre Iguodala or Allen Iverson?
Allen Iverson has returned back to Philadelphia and is ready to play.
Andre Iguodala has established himself as the leader of the 76ers and is putting up good numbers.
How will this signing affect this? As of now, I don't know.
Andre Iguodala is a good player. You can't deny that. He has averaged over 18 PPG each of the last three seasons. However, some doubt he will ever become a great player. He gets paid like a number one, but does he really deserve that money?
Now we get to our second man in town. You may know him as The Answer. But is he really The Answer anymore? Does he have enough in his tank to be a leader both on and off the court? Based on what we saw in Memphis, he can still score in this league. He shouldn't have any problems with that. It wouldn't surprise me if he averaged over 20 PPG with the Sixers. The main question is can he and will he be a leader.
When Iverson left Philly he was the leader and Iguodala was a rising star. We may see totally different roles this time around. Iverson could be the fading superstar while Iguodala enjoys his time as the main guy and the emotional leader of the 76ers.
Will Iverson accept this role? We know he didn't enjoy not being the main guy in Memphis. That's why The Answer is here in the first place.
Could this reunion be cut short? Will Iverson just leave Philly like he did Memphis?
Honestly, I don't think so. Iverson loves the limelight. He didn't get that in Memphis. Undoubtedly, he will get it in Philly. We love Iverson here. I love Iverson! Heck, even the guys on CSN Philly love Iverson!
Only time will tell if I'm right. I would love to see everything work out. I guess two leaders are better than one. Let's hope all goes well.
