The Celtics Spoil The Bobcats Party
This game was an opportunity for the Bobcats to take a big step in their franchises history. They were facing a 5 game winning streak and the opportunity to move within one game of .500 before game 20 and the chance to knock off a team that steam rolled them earlier in the season.
I was at this game a puzzled by the way the Bobcats played. Gerald Wallace never really got going in the game. The first half of that game it seemed like no one was sure about their shot. The Cats only scored 39 in the first half and the Celtics scored about 60. The Bobcats can not afford to get off to slow starts like that. Stephen Jackson is in Charlotte to help with scoring and they have to get 40 points from Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace. They only scored 16 points combined and that will not get it done
Wallace had two fouls in the first quarter and was sat down for most of the first half. I question this move by Larry Brown because it took Wallace out of the game period. He is the best player on this team and they needed him to have a chance in this game. Stephen Jackson who should be the first or second scoring option on this team looked very tentative. He was guarded by Ray Allen for most of the game. If you ask me this was a post up waiting to happen but only happened about twice.
What I would like to see from the Bobcats is the red hot intensity every game. The game they played against Cleveland and Atlanta was the type of ball that I believe the Bobcats can play 90% of the time. If Larry Brown can get them to give the consistent effort every night this team has enough pieces to make the playoffs.
