Honor Amongst Thieves: WWE RAW Rewind

Ron JohnsonJun 16, 2008

With every action, there's an equal an opposite reaction. With that being said, RAW opened up in Salt Lake City with the appearance of John Cena.

Cena comes out talking about the moments that leave us breathless, but before he can continue his walk down memory lane en route to Night of Champions, WWE Champion Triple H comes out and gives Cena a simple warning: Don't make this battle personal. The two men spend the majority of the time one-upping each other.

But before the physicality begins, Vince McMahon comes out to stop the slug party and begin the Money Parade. He also puts Cena in a Street Fight against Umaga to start the physical part of the show.

Monday Night RAW

First Bout: John Cena defeats Umaga in a Street Fight

Cena wastes no time, as he slugs it out with Umaga, but a botched slam gives Umaga the advantage as he sends Cena into the security wall.

Back from break, Umaga is continuing the assault on Cena all the way up the ramp, but just as the Doc is mounting a comeback, the Samoan Bulldozer drops him again with a Samoan Drop. But after a missed whiplash, Cena grabs a mic and drives it into Umaga's skull, but the Samoan recovers and hits the Samoan Slam followed by a clothesline.

Cena steals the chair that Umaga slides into the ring, nails him in the gut and follows it up with a Throwback and Beantown Leg Drop. But as he goes for the FU, his legs give out and Umaga has control once again. But after charging towards Cena with the steel steps, Cena counters into the FU for the win.

The first winner of the Million Dollar Mania is announced following the match as Denzel Parker of Virginia Beach, VA wins $125,000. Following the first money dish, the Divas head down to the ring for a little bikini contest.

Second Bout: Maria wins Summertime Beach Bikini Blowout

Charlie Haas hosts this contest between seven divas: Melina, Maryse, Lena, Layla, Jillian, Eve, and Maria. But unfortunately, Jillian tries to steal the show with another ear bleeding singing performance.

Thankfully, Haas cuts her off and Maria goes on to win the Bikini Blowout.

In the process of Maria's celebration, Mike Leyva of Monroe, North Carolina becomes the second winner as he nabs $100,000.

Back from break, while Jericho is prepping for his appearance, McMahon makes the call to his third winner, who shockingly enough, doesn't answer his phone. But that's good news for Jesse Jordan of Bethel, OH as he capitalized by winning $50,000. As the DX chants start to die down, Jeff Hardy makes his way to the ring.

Third Bout: Jeff Hardy defeats Carlito

As the bell rings, Carlito gets in a few cheap shots, but Hardy knows a trick or two as well, as he flies over the top rope. After a hard slap on the ropes, Carlito drops Hardy with a modified neckbreaker to gain control. Carlito keeps the pressure on with a submission, but Hardy counters into a mule kick, misses the donkey punch, but nails the jawbreaker.

After dodging the tree of woe, Hardy has control with the Whisper in the Wind. After swinging out of the Backstabber, the Rainbow Haired Warrior hits the Twist of Fate followed by the Swanton Bomb for the win.

Back up top, McMahon makes a call up north. And Kyle Mathison of Hoyt Lakes, MN manages to win $175,000. After that announcement, Jericho is making his way to the ring.

Jericho goes on to point the finger at all the fans for his actions last week. He goes so far as to call out Shawn Michaels. But the surprises keep on coming, as the Nature Boy makes a surprise appearance on RAW. As the show returns, Nature Boy comes out and challenges Jericho to a fight...in the parking lot.

Jericho and Flair head towards the parking lot, but as Jericho opens the exit door, he comes face to face with the WWE Champion, who makes it clear that he wants Jericho tonight. Vince McMahon pops up and makes the match official.

Fourth Bout: Holly & Rhodes defeat Cryme Tyme

This match was quick, as Ted DiBiase came out to distract the duo from Brooklyn. As Shad was aimed towards DiBiase, Hardcore Holly rolls up JTG for the quick win. The tag champs' opponent at Night of Champions is now making it clear that no one is safe from his quest for gold.

In other news, Becky Carmon of Advance, NC wins a whopping $16! Guess Cryme Tyme wasn't the only ones that got the shaft tonight.

Fifth Bout: Paul Burchill & Katie Lea defeat Mickie James & Kennedy

Kennedy gets clocked by Burchill to start the bout, but it doesn't take long before the Green Bay Loudmouth gets control. Burchill gets the advantage with an armbar, but Kennedy starts fighting back with a trifecta of boots.

Katie Lea tags herself in and Mickie wastes no time with a few clothesline and a sleeperslam followed by a dropping dropkick. As Burchill tries to interfere, he gets speared in half by Kennedy. Unfortunately, Lea drops Mickie with a modified backbreaker for the upset win.

Meanwhile, Mr. McMahon gives Alana Ayres of Westmont, IL something to smile about: $174,984!

The show returns with McMahon giving Peter Mauer of Bloomville, NY $75,000!

Before the main event, Vince gives Frank Turbeville of Haddon Township, NJ $300,000 in honor of next week's draft and decides that he will do another Million Dollar Mania Drawing next week during the draft.

Main Event: Triple H defeats Chris Jericho due to outside interference

Triple H gains the early advantage, but Jericho uses a cheap shot to take brief control. The Game regains control, and sends Jericho outside via the steel posts as RAW takes its final break.

Back on RAW, Jericho is on the offensive, and the Game is trying to get back in the ring. In the squared circle, Jericho continues the assault, but Triple H counters with a clothesline. The champions exchange rights until The WWE Champion nails the Harley Race High Knee, and Double A Spinebuster.

Jericho counters the Pedigree, misses the Lionsault, but counters the Pedigree once again. Both men fight on the outside until Lance Cade comes out of nowhere and attacks The Game. The two men set an ambush, bum-rushing him until John Cena comes out to rescue Triple H.

Cena takes both men out of the ring, but gets jumped by Triple H. As the two men slug it out, Jericho and Cade return to the ring and drop both men. They talk some trash and raise their arms in "victory," proving that there is little honor amongst thieves as RAW goes off the air.

Don't forget that next week, the WWE Draft will be live on RAW! Tune in as the Superstars of RAW, SmackDown! and ECW congregate to find out who is staying and who is going. RAW will go live one hour earlier at 8/7 Central on USA.
