Urlacher: Take Out Money, Insert Foot.

With all that money that we are spending on Brian Urlacher this year, as a Bears fan, I am none too pleased. Yes, injuries are a part of the game, we all know this about football, but can anybody argue that he is having the worst years of his career as of late?  Can you just keep him overpaid as the franchise poster child of the Chicago Bears? You just traded your life savings for Jay Cutler to be your franchise, He is the face of your franchise now, so why not trade him? Package maybe for a star receiver? You have no draft picks, so what i suggest we do is the following:

1. Look for a middle linebacker in the free agency or maybe the draft if someone happens to drop into your hands.

2. Maybe Package Urlacher and Gaines Adams to the Cardinals for disgruntled wide receiver Anquan Boldin. He is the receiver they so desperately need, and gets rid of some  money to resign him possibly to a new contract (wasn't that the problem in the first place for him?) Younger QB with star WR....match made in heaven.

3. Trade for just draft picks? It's a far out idea, but the whole idea is to get rid of Urlacher right? shed that contract or 2, get some draft picks (and your dignity) back from that cutler trade, in some capacity. At least a couple 2nd rounders, maybe a 1st and a 3rd.

Im up for any one of these, but it still will take a bunch of free agency magic to make this all work completely. Your special teams is just fine where it's at. Dave Toub, you are dong a helluva job, but the rest can go.  You need one or two Offensive Lineman, 1 Linebacker (middle if any of the above scenarios comes to light) a Safety if possible (Strong), and new coaches, this would be what you call, a major overhaul.  Urlacher, your recent comments about Kyle Orton and throwing Jay Cutler under the bus like that, I do not think you are worth anything more than trade bait. You have 1-2 more good years in you if you get your act together, someone would love to have you, they just dont reside in Chicago this time around.
