Dear Carson,

Congratulations on being 7-3 and bringing some football pride back to the Nati.  As I sit here wearing your jersey, I can hardly believe that you have lead my beloved Bengals to the top of the NFC North.  Being your biggest fan, I never doubted your talent or your dedication to the Bengals organization.

One question:

When are you going to start playing like, well...  Carson Palmer and not Neil O'Donnel circa 1998?  What happened to the long ball?  What happened to those 30 yard bullets across the middle? What happened to your laser-like precision during pressure situations.  Why do you look shy when you approach the line of scrimmage?  Is it a confidence issue or did you eat too much skyline the night before the game.

I know you miss Chris Henry as he was the Bengals ultimate deep threat.  And I know L.Coles has been unreliable at best this year.  But please remember what makes you a great quarterback:  The deep ball.

So child please...  Take a page out of Brett Farve's book and start flinging it down the field a bit more.  You have a rocket-fueled arm capable of firing deadly weapons of football destruction.  I'm starting to get a little tired of seeing 5 yard outs and screens.  Open it up dude.  You do it better than anyone.

Once we get Ced-Ben back, the field should open up a great deal.  But until he returns, my advice is to start watching Oprah.  Maybe she can help you get back your football self-esteem.
