Oh My God! What If Texas Loses!
As we enter the last few weeks of the season, we still have six undefeated teams.
Alabama and Florida will both be undefeated for their matchup in the SEC championship game if they can win their in-state rival games this week. Cincinnati has Illinois and Pittsburgh to finish their season. Texas has Texas A&M and Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game. Boise State has home games against Nevada and New Mexico State to finish the season. TCU finishes their season this week with a game against New Mexico.
All teams will hold serve this week going into the Championship week.
The biggest question for me is what happens if Texas loses against Nebraska?
Let play through this for a second.
Florida/Alabama winner by 4 in a classic game between two SEC powers.
Nebraska shocks Texas by 3 in a defensive struggle.
Pittsburgh claims Big East title with 10 point victory over Cincinnati.
If this scenario plays out, who would deserve to play the winner of the SEC Championship Game?
I think the loser of the SEC Championship Game deserves the other title game slot if the game is a close one. How does the loser fall behind TCU?
Would Pittsburgh or Georgia Tech have an argument?
Is this why we love the BCS? Because of the confusion it causes?
I predict that Pittsburgh will beat Cincinnati, so Texas must win out to prevent mass chaos once again in the BCS.
My predictions if Texas loses.
Rose Bowl
Oregon vs Ohio State
Fiesta Bowl
TCU vs Nebraska
Sugar Bowl
Texas vs Boise State
Orange Bowl
Pittsburgh vs Georgia Tech
Championship Game
