NFL Power Rankings Week 12 – Ever Green Saints Remain on Top

James HenryNov 26, 2009

NFL Power Rankings Week 12: As we are here, as the NFL season is going by we come up on week 12 of the 2009 NFL season. There have been so many teams jumping around on this last. Some teams are still on top, while others have dropped dramatically. Anyhow, Saints remain on top for this week 12 of 2009 NFL season.

Here is the latest Power Rankings list for week 12.

NFL Power Rankings Week 12

1.    Saints (10-0)

Up until this point of the season, everyone is still wondering if the Saints will lose a game this season. So far, they have not really come close, so I am sure that Coach Don Shula has begun to squirm just a bit from his recliner as he watches this team. This week’s game against the Patriots will tell the story of this team this season.

2.    Colts (10-0)

Peyton Manning continues to pull a rabbit out of his hat every week. I have no doubt that he is and will be known as the greatest quarterback in the history of the game. The Colts just keep on winning week after week. They might not always blow people out and the games might be close, but somehow, some way, they drive down the field with Manning leading them to victory week after week.

3.    Vikings (9-1)

All I can say at this point was that I was totally wrong about this team. I really did not figure Brett Favre to be playing as well as he has or the Vikings to dominate from week to week in the way that they have been so far this season. Favre looks like the young buck that he was 10 years ago with the ability to be the comeback kid when needed and he is playing one of the best seasons of his whole career. He has made everyone on the Vikings believing in themselves and they are a team to be reckoned with.

 4. Patriots (7-3)

Tom Brady and the Pats are still one of the best teams in the league and are a threat to win every single week. They still have an excellent defense and are full of offense weapons that can beat you on any given play. This week’s game against the unbeaten Saints should be considered the game of the week.

5. Chargers (7-3)

The Chargers have turned it around after a 3-3 start with four wins in a row. They are finally looking like the team that most of the experts expected them to be. Phillip Rivers is playing up to expectations and this team is on a roll. It should be interesting to see how they play in the next few weeks.

6. Cardinals (7-3)

After a slow start this season, the Cards have won three in a row and I would have to say that it is pretty safe to say the defending NFC Champs are back to form. With all of the weapons that the Cardinals have on offense it is hard to deny the fact that their offense will just continue to cause a lot of problems for their opposition.

7. Bengals (7-3)

Even though the Bengals lost a tough game this past week against the lowly Raiders, they were without Cedric Benson and they have still been playing good football. In addition, they have an excellent quarterback in Carson Palmer, and an explosive receiver in Chad Ocho Cinco. They should not have any problems bouncing back with a victory against the Browns this weekend. If they lose back to back games to the Raiders and the Browns, I will officially call the seven wins they do have a fluke.

8. Cowboys (7-3)

Even though this past game was struggle for Tony Romo and the Cowboys offense, they have for the most part been putting up some good numbers and Romo has been spreading the ball around between receivers Miles Austin, Patrick Crayton, and finally Roy Williams.

9. Jaguars (6-4)

The Jaguars still remain in a good spot for a playoff berth in the AFC considering that they have won three games in a row which puts them right in the hunt for a playoff berth this season. After consecutive wins over the Jets, the Texans, and an easy victory over the Bills, the Jags are right in the thick of the AFC picture at this point.

10. Steelers (6-4)

The Steelers have lost two games in a row and seem to be dropping fast. Big Ben getting a concussion does not help matters any as the season moves forward. It will be interesting to see if they can turn around their most recent misfortunes without Ben and the possibility of starting Dennis Dixon at quarterback for the next week or two.
