ORWBL: Week Three Preview

The Old Republic Whiffleball League is off and running. Only one series has yet to be played and some of the World Series contenders are already letting their presence be felt.

New Carlisle Newts (6-0) at 1-2-3 Swat (0-3)
PZ Field
No one can argue that the Newts are the best team in the National League, but this is Swat's chance to prove otherwise. The Newts are very fundamentally sound, especially on defense, where the Newts haven't given up more than four runs in a single game. New Carlisle shouldn't have any problems, even on the road at PZ Field, which ORWBL experts still aren't sure exists.
Prediction: Newts sweep series 3-0

Phat Dong (0-3) at Lil' Saints (3-3)
Nigley Field
Both of these teams have face the National League-leading Newts, and both were swept. The Saints went on to sweep 1-2-3 Swat. Zac Wilson has been the gem for the Saints. He's hitting .692 with two home runs and three runs batted in. Dong is in for a rough series at Nigley.
Prediction: Saints win series 2-1

Pterodactyls (3-3) at New Lydick Lakers (2-4)
The Farm/Holy House
I'm still not sure as to whether the Lakers play at The Farm or the Holy House. However, the field they play at should be the least of their worries. The Dactyls are sure to be angry after being swept last week by the Sox. Denis Jedrysek and Jordan Colanese are numbers one and two in the ORWBL batting average column and they should take care of New Lydick.
Prediction: Pterodactyls sweep series 3-0

White Sox (6-0) at Team Stank (1-5)
Rolling Prairie Little League
Stank is stoked after their first win of the season came last week. They continue their 9-game home stand with a series against the White Sox. Unfortunately for these ladies, the Sox are way too powerful to be contained. They took down the defending American League champion Dactyls in three last week and Neil Ludwig's crew should not have trouble against Stank.
Prediction: White Sox sweep series 3-0
