ACC Power Rankings: Week 13 Edition

Anna BelleNov 24, 2009

ACC Power Rankings for Week 13: After 12 weeks of the college football season, it’s become very clear who the haves and have-nots are in the ACC.

Here is the list of ACC Power Rankings for Week 13

1: Clemson Tigers (8-3 ATS, 8-3 SU) (LW: 1) Clemson may not have covered against the Cavs on Saturday, but who can blame the Tigers for celebrating the fact that they had already won the ACC Atlantic Division before they stepped onto the field? A big showdown with the Yellow Jackets for a berth in the Orange Bowl awaits, but up first is the traditional rivalry game with the Gamecocks.

Up Next: Away @ South Carolina (-3)

2: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7-3 ATS, 10-1 SU) (LW: 2) During its bye last week, Georgia Tech learned that it will be facing Clemson in the ACC Championship game in two weeks time. However, there's plenty of unfinished business to deal with first, as a date with the rival Bulldogs comes first and foremost on the minds of HC Paul Johnson and the Jackets.

Up Next: Home vs. Georgia (-7)

3: North Carolina Tar Heels (6-4 ATS, 8-3 SU) (LW: 5) All of a sudden, the Tar Heels are making a great case to be the third choice for the ACC bowl games this year. North Carolina has now slammed Boston College and Miami in back-to-back weeks, and once the winner of the Georgia Tech/Clemson game goes to the BCS and the loser goes to the Gator Bowl, the next bowl games in line should all be salivating over the prospects of taking a very solid UNC squad.

Up Next: Away @ North Carolina State (-5)

4: Duke Blue Devils (5-3-1 ATS, 5-6 SU) (LW: 6) The Dookies had a shot to knock off Miami and become bowl eligible on Saturday, but they ran out of gas and were trampled in the fourth quarter. Now, a victory against Wake Forest is a must for the HC David Cutcliffe to get Duke to a bowl game for the first time since 1994.

Up Next: Home vs. Wake Forest (+3)

5: Boston College Eagles (6-4 ATS, 7-4 SU) (LW: 3) Coming into Saturday's action, the odds had it that the Eagles were going to finish second in the ACC Atlantic division. There's no shame in that the fact that they finished behind Clemson, but when it comes time to decide where BC will be bowling, that loss to Carolina is going to loom large. Another loss would really send it down the bowl ladder.

Up Next: Away @ Maryland (-6.5)

6: Virginia Cavaliers (6-4 ATS, 3-8 SU) (LW: 7) HC Al Groh may be searching for any moral victory he can get right now, but the boosters probably aren't going to care too much that UVA covered the spread against Clemson. Only wins are going to cut it at this point, and the bitter truth is that the Cavaliers haven't done enough of that lately to warrant Groh sticking around in Charlottesville another year.

Up Next: Home vs. Virginia Tech (+13)
