Every Saturday Is a Play-Off! Turkey Day Edition

taylor WatsonNov 23, 2009

Man! I can smell the turkey—Mmmmmm, some sweet potatoes, and cornbread dressing!!! hecKya!   Pecan pie, & gallons of sweet tea!!

Holy high blood pressure I love thanksgiving!

I love the Macy's day parade, I love getting out the Christmas decorations, I love the smell of food cooking all day, I love to listen to my very loud  uncle or even my idiot brother-in-law, cause it’s all part of Thanksgiving, and another part of this truly American holiday is college football rivalry games!

Love em!! Alabama vs Auburn, Texas vs Texas A&M, Florida vs FSU., Georgia vs Georgia Tech…etc.

The BCS top three, all have rivalry games this week, Alabama in the uncivil war down in the plains of Auburn, down on the plainest little village on the plains, the odds makers have Alabama favored by 10, but if I were you I’d hang on to that money, cause you just don’t ever know what’s going to happen in the Iron Bowl!

The Longhorns travel to College Station, to play Texas A&M, The Aggies have won 2 out of the last 3 games, but I don’t think the Aggies will make it 4 out of 5, and neither do the Vegas Boys- Texas by 22.

Alabama native and AARP poster child Bobby Bowden and his Tallassee kids travel to Gainesville, to wrestle a gator! FSU has been playing a little better as the season progressed winning 4 out of its last 5, but Urban and his gang have won 21 in a row, so it looks like The Gators, the Tide and the Longhorns will be atop the polls and computers going into Championship week.

But lets not look to far ahead cause it’s rivalry week!

Boise State who has the 96th rated schedule according to Jeff Sargin, has it’s biggest opponent in 11 games when Nevada travels to  Smurf field, then they finish the season with the 157th ranked team in the Sargin poll New Mexico State.

This week TCU finishes its regular season against 1-10 New Mexico Lobos, the Wolves  are ranked 147th in the computer whiz’s  poll and the Vegas guys, have TCU a 43 point favorite, that’s seven touchdowns better than the Lobos.

Of the three lower tier undefeated teams, as I have said before, Cincinnati has the toughest road left, this week they host  Illinois, who is at the bottom of the Big-Ten but  still are a Big-Ten team, then Cinc ends the year with a huge contest versus a very good Pittsburgh team, and it will be even bigger if Pitt can survive rivalry week, as they take on the West Virginia Mountaineers, with a win for the Panthers, that will set up a top ten match up that may send the winner into a chance for an national championship, a slight chance but a chance.

But that’s for next week, this week is Turkey time! Damn I can already smell the gravy! ---- Has anyone seen my elastic pants?
