Heading into this Debrecen vs Liverpool clash, the Reds have been struggling in both the English Premier League as well as in the Champions League.

In the Champions League, Liverpool sit third spot in the group with four points, owing to a win, a draw, and two losses.

The Reds have only conceded five goals, but have scored just three themselves. They are winless in all competitions in the last five games, drawing 2-2 against Manchester City at home on Saturday meaning that they have won only once in the last 10 games (losing six of them), and are in seventh place in the Premier League.

Leading Liverpool scorer Fernando Torres is injured at the moment and joins a list of players on the sidelines, including Martin Kelly (ankle), Albert Riera (hamstring), and Glen Johnson (calf).

Agger needed five stitches in his head on Saturday and Ryan Babel left the game due to a twisted right ankle and so both are doubtful for this Liverpool v Debrecen reverse fixture.

Debrecen

After four games in the Champions League, Debrecen sits dead last in Group E with no points and a minus nine goal difference.

They have won just once in their last five Champions League games and only two of the past five at home. Gergely Rudolf leads the Hungarian club with two goals so far this season in the competition.

Debrecen has fared better in their domestic league and sits in fifth place after 13 games with eight wins, a draw and four losses. They have won two league games in a row after suffering three consecutive defeats.

Their latest game was a 2-1 win on the road over Budapest Honved on Friday.

Peter Biro, Peter Mate, David Mohl and Dudu were all left out of the Champions League squad due to hamstring injuries.

Prediction

In the first Liverpool vs Debrecen tie at Anfield on Sept. 16, the Reds squeaked out a 1-0 win owing to a Dirk Kuyt goal in the 45th minute.

While Debrecen has no chance of advancing in the Champions League, Liverpool is still hanging on to hope with a mathematical possibility.

Even without Torres in the line-up, Liverpool should be strong enough to take three points.

Debrecen vs Liverpool Prediction: Debrecen 1 - Liverpool 2
