A Breakdown of UFC 106

Really happy with Kendall Grove. He held off the wrestling domination pretty well and it looks like he's returning to his strength in jiu jitsu. Great step for Grove.

As for Jake Rosholt....I wasn't impressed with anything he did. His wrestling is obviously overrated.

George Sotiropoulos once again impressed the hell out of me and this time it was to a very game Jason Dent. His striking is definitely his hole, but even that wasn't horrible.

But this man's jiu jitsu is crazy if he gets you down he is all over you. I wanna see him take on a wrestler.

Give him Tyson Griffin or Gray Maynard or Sean Sherk. That'll be an interesting fight. He definitely deserves a step up in competition.

As for Jason Dent, he did exactly as I expected him to: get drowned out trying to defend was his only option. His striking was very sufficient but for the most part because he was a little iffy to engage.

Instead of egging him on and waiting for him to come in, he should have been in his face.

Sotiropoulos will always find a way to put it to the ground; don't try to avoid it. Instead, knock his head off and try to hurt him so he can't run through you down there.

Now we got Saunders vs Davis. I predict Davis by TKO or decision I lean towards TKO. Let's see how it goes...

Oh my lord, I just ate my words. Saunders looked amazing. His Muay Thai was crazy good.

This Ben Saunders would have beaten Mike Swick at UFC 99. Instead of my previous thought that he was over hyped for the Swick fight, I now believe the big stage fight got on his head at UFC 99. Wow!

Wow, Larson really knows how to make a fight interesting. Two point deductions in the same round for blatantly obvious rule breaking has got to be some kind of record.

I'm not sure what happens in the second round, I'm shitting but Larson looked shifty in the first. I don't know if its jitters coming off his loss or underestimation on his part.

I don't know but he's doing shit he shouldn't be doing, not even counting the penalties. And Foster doesn't look too great either. He's not capitalizing when he should. He was winning but because Larson is an idiot.

I can hear from the shitter it's over. I don't know who won. My bet is Larson shakedown off the jitters and got the KO.

I'm wrong again he hesitated and got TKO'd. I give Larson negative points and Foster zero points. Anyone would look good against someone who fought like that.

Main card time!!!!!! Amir looked real god against baroni he can really take those shots. His gameplan was perfect it gets no better. But I'd lime to see him hit the weightroom he just doesn't look very strong in there. Not much to say about baroni he's game but we already knew that his cardio looked a little better but no much. He needs to pick up some new tricks to survive.

Wow Lil Nog can bang. Luis cane has a chin and he just got put away with ease. That's a title contender right there.

Paulo thiago looked real good. He was real sloppy bit he definately showed a willingness to expand his game. Volkmann also looked good looks like that was some ufc jitters and exaustion as well as being really pushed I saw a lot of promise in Jim as well as a lot of holes. His career can go wither way. Kind of depends what the ufc sees in him.

Wow Koscheck/Johnson was awesome the eye pokes were crazy. None on purpose in My opinion koscheck looked good. Delivered good shots took good shots good wrestling And jiu jitsu came through even though he missed some opportunities to use it. He needs to defend those kicks. Good decision in calling out Dan hardy. Ufc has been hit by the injury bug they need solid Match up So who knows he might get it. Johnson by noeans looked bad just needs more time to grow. I want him to fight saunders or swick.

Wow definately fight of the night very likely fight of he year. 1st round was close I give it to Forrest what I liked the most about In this fight is that he did new shit. On the ground he looked amazons defending and switching his striking was more crisp and varied then it has in the past not just left hook straight right righ leg kick he looked good the entire fight. Second round was tito's but Forrest still did well he defended takedowns better and held off the beat down better and even swept Tito. Third round was all Forrest all day. He put on a striking clinic Tito did nothin and couldn't get the takedown to save his life. Best Forrest I've ever seen. Tito needs to shake off this ring rust and start a march through the division starting with Keith jardine or the loser of Rashad Evans vs thiago silva or even quite possibly a rematch with Chuck Liddell. He made some excuses at the end but still gave Forrest is due. I wish he wouldn't of made excuses but when you pour your heart in training it's hard to take a loss and say nothing.

Josh koscheck to fight again. I doubt he'll get amatch with Dan hardy so let's just keep his name in there And let him fight everytime he wants to. Make everyone see his name so he can really hype up a title shot with the winner of gsp/hardy. John halferty is getting some wins. I suggest the winner of Carlos condit vs Paul Daley that's number one contender material.

Brock Larson to be fired. Or at least be forced to provide one he'll of an excuse.

Phil baroni to be given another chance to fight. Brian foster would be a good fight.

Forrest griffin to utilize his ground more. He loomed damn good I don't wanna see him bang I wanna see a jiu jitsu clinic from him. I think he could do it. I really hope he doesn't fight rich Franklin next I like those two too much.
