Raptors Report, Week Four: After a Month, It's Good to Be Home!

Sachin AroraCorrespondent INovember 23, 2009

The Raptors didn't have a great week and mostly got outplayed, but it was at the hands of many good teams. After a month, their schedule finally starts to ease up, and coming back home after that long road trip feels good. The Raps aren't sitting in a playoff spot, but expect that to change soon. They have had a very tough schedule, and the team is still meshing together.

Record: 1-3

Performance on Scale of 1-10: 5

Positives: Even after going 1-3, there are some positives from this week. First off, the team came away with a convincing win against Miami, who have been one of the East's top teams. Chris Bosh hasn't stopped the double-doubles and overall has been unreal, especially on rebounds. And finally, believe it or not, the Raptors defense is actually getting better!

Negatives: There always has to be something wrong with the Raptors. They were 1-3! To start off, their offense has started to dry out. They have kept games close, but can't seem to answer the other team's runs. Call a timeout, Triano!

Leads don't seem to be safe with the Raptors, either. They had a 22-point lead against the Heat, and then it was shredded to just one.

And yes, their defense is advancing, but they are far from being one of the better defensive teams in the league.

If you look at the Raptors' schedule, they haven't been bad. If they continue to improve their defense, they will get better. Offense isn't a problem with this team, but toughness will be, at least until Reggie Evans comes back.

Finally, the return of Pops Mensah-Bonsu will be great for the team. Pops brings defense and energy to the floor, and should help to address many of the Raptors' problems.
