AEW Double or Nothing 2022 Match Card Predictions After Revolution Results

Another exceptional All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view is in the books, as Revolution had no issue living up to the lofty hype Sunday night.

The barn-burner between Adam Page and Adam Cole for the AEW World Championship culminated with Hangman holding on to the gold. Elsewhere on the show, CM Punk bested MJF in a grueling Dog Collar match and several other championships were successfully defended.

In addition to the night's many memorable moments and matches, seeds were planted for what's to come. Double or Nothing over Memorial Day weekend will be AEW's next pay-per-view outing, and the pieces are in place for what should be another special show.

Of course, anything can change in the next two-and-a-half months, but the groundwork has been set for what the show's main events should be. Page's next challenger is crystal clear. As is where the suspenseful saga involving Cole, reDRagon and The Young Bucks goes from here.

As we look ahead following a red-hot Revolution pay-per-view, here are five match card predictions for the upcoming installment of Double or Nothing.

Adam Page vs. CM Punk

CM Punk's first six months in AEW have been nothing short of remarkable, seeing him turn in terrific matches and promos every chance he gets.

He seemingly wrapped up his fantastic feud with MJF at Revolution in the brutal dog collar match he won. Unless the idea is to build to a rubber match sometime soon, it sure looks like MJF will be shifting his focus to Wardlow.

If that's the case, then Punk has nothing left to do but enter the AEW World Championship picture.

He's made mention many times of wanting to challenge for the title, but bad blood with Eddie Kingston and MJF got in the way of fulfilling that goal. He's finally exorcised those demons and can now set his sights on the strap going into Double or Nothing.

Yes, a babyface vs. babyface feud isn't ideal, but AEW can make it work. Adam Page has been a fighting champion since November and an opponent of Punk's caliber would prevent him from feeling like an afterthought again.

Punk has lost only one singles match since joining AEW in August, and that was to MJF in early February. He makes more sense than anyone to be contending for the title at Double or Nothing, and it's a match that could go either way.

Jurassic Express vs. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson

Against all odds, Jurassic Express retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Revolution despite facing tough competition in The Young Bucks and reDRagon.

With Young Bucks and reDRagon likely branching off to focus on their own issues, Jurassic Express will need new challengers in the coming weeks. AEW's tag team division has never been deeper, but perhaps the biggest bout they can have at Double or Nothing is with the duo of Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.

Moxley and Danielson had a highly physical affair later in the night, and Moxley wound up picking up the win. The two continued to brawl afterward, only to be straightened out by the debuting William Regal, someone who knows both men extremely well.

They made it clear going into Revolution that Moxley would agree to team with Danielson depending on how their match went. Needless to say, they earned each other's respect, and now the time has come for them to form an alliance under Regal's guidance.

Santana and Ortiz are another option for Jurassic Express, but Danielson and Moxley could breathe new life into the division by becoming champions and, therefore, should be next in line for a shot at Double or Nothing.

MJF vs. Wardlow

MJF had a rough night at Revolution, losing a bloody brawl to CM Punk and receiving no help from his longtime insurance policy, Wardlow. This was after Wardlow won the Face of the Revolution ladder match to earn the opportunity to challenge for the AEW TNT Championship on the St. Patrick's Day Slam edition of Dynamite later in March.

Wardlow will face the winner of Wedesday's Sammy Guevara vs. Scorpio Sky match, and his opponent will likely be Guevara. Before then, though, Wardlow is virtually guaranteed to answer for his actions and feel MJF's wrath in some form or fashion.

AEW has really been ramping up the teases of Wardlow turning on MJF as of late and the crowds have been strongly behind him as a result. The split is coming sooner rather than later, and unless MJF can find his way into the AEW World Championship picture at Double or Nothing, Wardlow vs. MJF may be the direction they head in instead.

Whether Wardlow wins the TNT title or is forced to give up his title shot to MJF, expect from dissension between them after what we saw at Revolution. The beginning of the end is near, and Double or Nothing could be the perfect stage on which to finally have them square off.

It then becomes a question of who should win, but this feud is too promising to pass up, and the breakup has to be imminent.

The Hardys vs. Private Party

Jeff Hardy's impending AEW debut is one of the worst-kept secrets in wrestling. With his 90-day non-compete clause set to expire, it's more a matter of when than if he will be brought in.

It's been teased for weeks that Matt Hardy is on the outs with his own faction, the Hardy Family Office, and that Andrade El Idolo would be taking over instead. That was made fairly clear at Revolution when Matt ate the fall for his team.

There can be no doubt that was done by design to lead to Matt's exit from the group. Whether it's Wednesday or another week, Jeff will soon join his brother's side and reunite The Hardy Boyz on a major stage for the first time in nearly three years.

Their match at Double or Nothing basically books itself: The Hardy Boyz vs. Private Party. Andrade can somehow be worked in as well considering he's the person Matt has beef with, but The Hardys vs. Private Party is much more appealing on paper, and the latter team would benefit from sharing the ring with two legends.

It's entirely possible this is given away on TV ahead of Double or Nothing, but it would be an exciting undercard attraction for that pay-per-view, especially if there aren't other obvious opponents for The Hardy Boyz at that event.

The Elite vs. Adam Cole and reDRagon

It was evident as early as November that there was dissension within The Elite's ranks, and at Revolution, there were several hints that a faction feud pitting Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks against Adam Cole and reDRagon may be coming to fruition.

During Don Callis' appearance on the pre-show, he noted that Cole wouldn't be anything more than a transitional champion if he were to win the AEW World Championship in the main event, which he didn't. Then Young Bucks and reDRagon cost each other the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

Depending on when he's feeling healthy enough to return, Omega should be back relatively soon to begin to build to this star-studded six-man tag team match. It's possible Omega vs. Cole happens at Double or Nothing instead, but the six-man match should be what comes first in order to give the former Undisputed Era a big win.

The storyline possibilities with these guys are endless given the history between them. There's so much AEW can explore, and that's not even including the potential involvement of Bullet Club's Jay White and Co.

This will be what turns Omega and Young Bucks babyface and cement Cole and reDRagon as AEW's top heel force. The Double or Nothing card won't be complete unless the latest chapter in this compelling saga plays out on the pay-per-view.
