The New Profile Page Says It All!
To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to say...no shout...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! The new profile page says it all. Whoever is responsible for this change is a visionary and deserves an award.
The design is eye catching. The description under the author's picture is classy. Just about any stat on said author is right there as soon as you pull up their profile. But it is the right hand side of the screen that just ROCKS!
The new ranking system is just what some ego hounds have been hoping for.
I, on the other hand adore the medals. There are so many ways to be awarded an honor, it actually reminds me of the Miss Congeniality award. The old way was good, but this is outstanding.
I may not amount to a hill of beans, but my article may be fun enough to spark a few good comments followed by follow ups and replies and voila! A bronze medal.
Whether a writer has a flash of greatness or is as consistent as a pothole in the French Quarter, there is an award for it. Heck "honorable mention" is still great, especially when there are so many intriguing writers on the site.
Be it a "Great Read" or an "Editor's Pick," there is an award for that too.
Ranking by number of articles written, comments made, and number of reads gives even a casual visitor a closer look at the author and a bit more knowledge about the Bleacher Report site.
The sky is the limit to where it can go from here. I am sure there will be those who do not agree with the change, then again their glass is probably always half empty. With any luck there will be an award for that, too!
There seems to be a few glitches, but I am sure those will be worked out in the next few days. Did anyone else become a "contributor" from "scribe" or was that just me? In case anyone is wondering: I'm going for one of those comment awards...again.
Mom and Dad always told me, "It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game." I knew it all along!
Happy writing to one and all, and to all a good night.
