The Hardcore Revolution: Episode #6...The Current State Of The WWe

Josh LoganNov 21, 2009

Going into this Survivor Series PPV the state of the WWe is interesting.

There are Good things.

There Bad things.

And yes I'll be cliche enough to even say there are Ugly things.

*The Good*

 - The mid-card division on Raw is flourishing

- The Miz is a suitable Champion.

- Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne, MVP, Ted Debiase, Cody Rhodes and Shaemus are all in the running for a shot at the belt and any of them could replace The Miz and create an amazing program with any of the other.

 - The talent on ECW is impeccable

- Christian is the champion, William Regal is the main challenger, Kozlov and Jackson could both be in Championship contention on either brand, Zack Ryder has come into his own and has put on some really nice programs with mid-card stars like Shelton Benjamin and Yoshi.

- Goldust is fighting like he is in his prime and has created some remarkable feuds that have led other superstars into Raw and Smackdown.

 - Pushes all around for younger talent

- Kofi Kingston is in an amazing program with Randy Orton and is getting the push of a lifetime into the Top Tier of the Raw Brand.

- The Miz went from being a very hate-able character to a wrestler-esque look gaining some great wins over tough competition.

This should have been done sooner though especially considering that he did perform well against Cena in their semi-fued, which I might say was a great show that Cena can't lead a non-gimmick singles match for his life.

- Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler have gotten some great exposure on the Smackdown brand.

Not only is Ziggler the only Mid-card competition for Morrison, but McIntyre is getting his feet wet by fighting some good competition in Finlay and other Veterans of the game.

*The Bad*

 - Two triple threat Championship matches on one PPV

- Now I know that there are two completely different situations in both, but come on this is just terrible creative writing.  The Jeri-show/Taker match is sure to be filled with great back and forth wrestling, while the DX/Cena match will give a prelude to maybe another HHH/HBK feud for the belt.

That might sound good, but I assure you it is not what is best for the company.

If the WWe wanted to do anything they should have solidified one of their future stars from the Mid-card into the Top Tier spot-light or had a tournament for a shot at the belt.

I actually love the Smackdown match so, that is not a part of the bad, just the fact that there are two Championship triple threat matches.

  - The Women's wrestling division

- Don't get me wrong here, there are a few really good women wrestlers.  They are mainly on Smackdown though.

Raw has Melina and Gail Kim, but who else?

Alicia Fox? I'm sorry, but the Booker T wanna be female wrestler, who got her name by being Edge's bootycall in one of the worst storylines ever in WWe history, should not eve be in contention.  She does one move and is very sloppy.

Kelly Kelly has improved, but she isn't any better.

There is no competition on Raw since they moved the most talented Diva's to Smackdown. It's just not right for the Women's division to be really strong on one brand and terrible on the other.

*The Ugly*

 - This will be the 3rd straight PPV without a ECW Championship match

- I do not understand it.  There is more talent on ECW then the other brands when it comes to being able to put on a great singles match.

This brand has gotten no respect over the last year and is being used like a glorified FCW.

This needs to change.  And I mean now, before the WWe realizes it has just lost out on some really amazing PPV matches.

This is all that there is to talk about this time around.

If anyone has anything they would like to add or even complain about leave a comment and we can have a discussion.

My Grade as of now is a solid B- for the WWe.

As always "Long Live ECW and Long Live The Extreme."
