The Rock Back With WWE, Hulkamania Tour Update
Reports have surfaced recently that The Rock will be working closely with WWE on an upcoming project and possibly do some more appearances at shows. In a recent interview Johnson was quoted saying:
"I love that world and being able to entertain, especially if I could go back whether it's on Smackdown and do a promo or guest-host or we could create this cool show, whatever that may be," Johnson said. "Especially now, I'm at the point where I can go back and give back to the fans and help out the guys in any way I can."
He later went on to say "Right now we're trying to put together—there is always something cool and interesting for me to do. I would like to do something more than just host the show," Johnson said. "I'm in the process of creating something really cool for the fans - something very special and unique. It will be something like one big entertaining show."
These comments are vague at best, but it appears that Johnson will be doing some kind of new show with the WWE sometime in the future, what that show will be is unclear. It could be a WWE produced sitcom of some sort or a sports reality show perhaps.
How great would a Sportscenter themed Wrestling show hosted by the Rock be? I know it’s a very unlikely possibility but it would be entertaining. Either way a Raw guest host spot is almost guaranteed for The Rock after the promo he cut on Smackdown’s tenth anniversary show where he stated just the above quote.
As for the Hulkamania Tour, the results of the first show are in and it looks like Hogan will be using the brass knucks as a finisher instead of his signature Big Leg Drop due to his recent recovery from back surgery.
During the first show it was reported that Flair and Hogan both bled quite a bit during their match, which made up for the slow pace of the bout. Former WWE wrestlers Shannon Moore and Umaga both took was is said to be “Pretty bad bumps” during their respective matches. Hopefully this will not affect spots on the tour.
It will be interesting to see if the results are the same for each show, or if they will switch up anything in the matches for the second, third, and fourth shows. Rumors of a Hulkamania tour DVD have also come about. Ric Flair’s promo during the show is said to be one of his best in years, and is DVD worthy.
Hopefully we will get to see some of these matches on-line if there ends up being no DVD, but from the standpoint of profit, a DVD would be a great idea. It's probably going to be the last time we will ever see Flair vs Hogan, so lets all hope a video becomes available.
Mr. (Kennedy) Anderson is showing a lot of ring rust according to some who were in attendance, along with looking in worse shape than he was when he left WWE months ago. Lacey Von Erich won the bikini contest, which was said to be the worst part of the show. She will be on the whole tour so it will be interesting to see if TNA acknowledges that she is on the Hulkamania tour during her absence from the Beautiful People.
The show is said to be nothing special in the way of wrestling but the excitement level was high as many of these wrestlers have not been seen in the ring in some time.
