The 43rd Ryder Cup will take place in the United States for the first time since 2016 at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin this week.
To mark the occasion, captain Steve Stricker and the rest of Team USA will be wearing uniforms made by the famous American designer Ralph Lauren for the fourth year in a row.
The official outfitter, known for its classic designs, will furnish the team with pieces that represent the United States' official patriotic colors: red, white and blue.
As for Team Europe, they'll be dressed in uniforms made by Italian fashion brand Loro Piana.
Here's a quick look and breakdown of both teams' uniforms.
Team USA Shines in Ralph Lauren
While Stricker may still be building the lineup for Team USA, everyone, from the players to the caddies, will be draped in Ralph Lauren.
According to Golfweek's Averee Dovsek, the collection will feature a "capsule full of Polo Golf and RLX Golf apparel" with all items "made with moisture-wicking properties and enhanced airflow in Ralph Lauren’s performance fabrics."
Dovsek also reports that the polos "are designed to compliment any swing, and the pants are lightweight and flexible."
"I am thrilled to be a part of the upcoming 2020 U.S. Ryder Cup team," vice captain and longtime Ralph Lauren ambassador Davis Love III told Janice Ferguson of Sports Illustrated. "Having Ralph Lauren, my longtime partner, once again provide the uniforms is also fantastic; not only do they always create fresh, modern designs, the pieces are also always top-of-the-line in terms of performance and comfort."
Team USA will wear RLX Course designs on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in various red, white and blue-striped colorways, while on Wednesday and Sunday, they'll wear Air Tech Pique polo shirts, with a chest stripe.
On Saturday, they wear mesh camo jacquard polo with the Ryder Cup logo.
Additionally, most of the collection will feature "United We Stand" and "USA20" as a way of highlighting the team.
Team Europe Goes Italian
European team captain Padraig Harrington collaborated with Italian manufacturer Loro Piana to create the uniforms it will be wearing in Whistling Straits this week.
Players, as well as the support team, will wear the designs on and off the golf course.
"As captain, I want the players to feel as comfortable as possible throughout the week of the Ryder Cup, and the Loro Piana clothing is a key part of that," Harrington told Golf Business News.
Most of the line will feature waterproof pieces and use a special woven wind microfibre that uses a three-layer technique.
"Sport is a true testing ground for Loro Piana, a field laboratory in which to test, through the exclusive support and collaboration of famous champions, both Loro Piana's own products and new fabrics and fibres, designed to provide unprecedented performance in special atmospheric conditions and in challenging situations," Loro Piana told Olivier Guyot of Fashion Network.
"It is relying on these principles, after equestrian competitions, sailing and classic cars, that the collaboration between Loro Piana and the golfing world has become a reality."
