Miami 'Fins Find a Way To Stay Alive

Jason ClaryNov 20, 2009

You start the year 0-3 and lose your starting quarterback, what do you do?

You start to win with a second year quarterback.  You are on the verge of getting back to .500 and you lose your best offensive weapon, what do you do?  You run the ball anyway.

You can like em' or hate em' but there is no denying this Miami Dolphins team is going to fight until there is no fight left.

After an 0-3 start the future looked grim as the Fins' were sitting at the bottom of the AFC East.  Insert Chad Henne into the equation and the playoffs are by no means out of the question as they have won five out of seven games.

Their 24 to 17 win against the Carolina Panthers just shows the resiliency of this team. They were getting knocked down and banged up.  They had gone almost the entire first half without scoring and before you could blink they racked up 14 points before half time.

Ricky Williams, for the first time in his career, scored with both a run and a reception.  Ted Ginn averaged 42 yards returning kicks this game.  Davonne Bess converted important third downs.  Lousaka Polite was doing an outstanding job lead blocking.  And the list continues.

The Dolphins did something against Carolina that shows so much promise.  They finished a game.  Although it took a knockdown in the end zone the Dolphins came up with a win.

The Dolphins will play another pivotal AFC East game next Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.  This Thursday game will serve as a mini bye-week as the Dolphins, for the first time this season, look to achieve a winning record.

This may just be another game, another week, another season in the NFL but this win could have helped Miami turn the corner to contention, again.
