Pro Wrestling Top 25 Mock Rankings

Ron JohnsonJun 13, 2008

With the first batch of rankings set to be unleashed this Sunday, I figured I would give an example of how the rankings would look. If it was just based on points, it would look like this:

Pro Wrestling Top 25 (excluding SmackDown! superstars)

1) Kurt Angle (TNA): 264 points

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

After an impressive showing in the Lumberjack Match last night on TNA IMPACT!, Angle made good on his promise of taking his wife out of TNA with the help of TNA Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong.

2) Tomko (TNA): 264 points

The former Problem Solver did his part at Slammiversary to ground AJ Styles, but not enough to keep Styles from winning the match against Angle this past Sunday. He more than made up for it last night in the Lumberjack Match.

3) Team 3D (TNA): 264 points

The multi time tag champs didn't fare well at Slammiversary, but they did get a measure of revenge in the Lumberjack Match by taking out Rhino with a reverse 3D, but got the "tables" turned with the return of the Monster Abyss.

4) Kane (ECW): 259 points

The ECW Champion did everything he could to dethrone the WWE Tag Team Champions, but it wasn't enough to capture gold on Tuesday night. Now he can focus all his attention on his date with the Big Show at Night of Champions.

5) Christian Cage (TNA): 259 points

The Instant Classic joined his partner Rhino and Matt Morgan to help AJ Styles keep the momentum against Kurt Angle. In the end, though, the numbers game caught up with them until Abyss returned to the IMPACT! Zone.

6) Rhino (TNA): 259 points

The War Machine did everything he could to help AJ Styles win the match. But he was taken out by Team 3D and didn't stick around to help in the outcome.

7) Matt Morgan (TNA): 259 points

The genetically jacked, athletically stacked Morgan used that power to keep Team Angle at bay, but if not for the elimination of Rhino, things could have been different in the end.

8) Motor City Machine Guns (TNA): 259 points

In an impressive preview of the World X Cup, the Guns gave Team TNA a victory in the preview. But Team Japan's Speed Muscle gave them something to think about along the way.

9) AJ Styles (TNA): 254 points

The Phenomenal One pulled off the upset at Slammiversary against Kurt Angle. But it might be in his best interest to put his "friendship" with Karen Angle on the backburner and focus on the wrath of The Olympic Champion.

10) Samoa Joe (TNA): 249 points

The TNA World Champion defeated his four opponents at Slammiversary. But then he defeated Kaz, turned his back on his mentor, Kevin Nash, and accepted the challenge for Victory Road in Houston against Booker T all in one night.

11) CM Punk (ECW): 249 points

12) Robert Roode & James Storm (TNA): 240 points

13) LAX (TNA): 234 points

14) Kaz (TNA): 229 points

15) The Dirt Sheet (ECW): 226 points

16) Mickie James (RAW): 214 points

17) John Cena (RAW): 213 points

18) Gail Kim (TNA): 213 points

19) Armando Estrada (ECW): 213 points

20) Triple H (RAW): 208 points

21) Jeff Hardy (RAW): 205 points

22) Beth Phoenix (RAW): 204 points

23) JBL (RAW): 204 points

24) Colin Delaney (ECW): 202.5 points

25) Kofi Kingston (ECW): 197 points

Now do you see why the fans votes are necessary? I hope so. After SmackDown!, if there are no fan votes, this will change pretty well, but the points system will be the way that the first rankings start. With that, don't forget to vote immediately following Friday Night SmackDown!
