Najee Harris Throws NFL Draft Party for Kids at Homeless Shelter He Grew Up in
Alabama star Najee Harris helped stage a watch party for the 2021 NFL draft at a homeless shelter where he spent a portion of his childhood.
"That little time we had helped my family out to find another place to stay so just giving back to communities and giving back to places like this means a lot to me," Harris said of visiting the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program shelter in Richmond, California, per Lyanne Melendez of ABC7.
He also told KRON4 News' Kylen Mills his mom was especially emotional when she visited the facility:

Harris has obviously come a long way. He won the Doak Walker Award in his final year with the Crimson Tide and was a two-time national champion.
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Harris with the 24th overall pick, which will net him an estimated $13 million his rookie contract, per Spotrac.
