What Ever Happened To Us?

Peyton SwancyNov 19, 2009

115-121, that's the total win lose record Carolina earned in their franchise history. Once a week, people from all around the Carolina's gather wearing nothing but blue, silver, white, and black clothes to watch #69 drag in those amazing one handed grab, and see # 17 throw nothing but touchdowns and lead the offense to the promise land. This was the case last year.

This year with a combine total of 4 wins and 5 loses half way through the season, the Carolina Panthers were in the front running of being the Detroit Lion's starting 3-0, losing to the Cowboys, Eagles, and the Falcons. Now these were good teams but it is the stats that will make you want to pull your eye's out. At one point in time #17 threw more picks than completions.

After a much needed bye week the Panthers finally got there stuff together. Finally pulling out 2 straight wins before losing to the Buffalo Bills. In each win DeAngelo Williams was the leading rusher with 192 yards (96.0 yards on average) on 48 carries. On the other hand in every lose we turn the ball over on an average of 5.3. Now if you haven't realized that's more games than we have won.

Trust me I bleed blue, silver, and black but someone has to say, it we need to get our act together. I Love that whole squad from Delhomme to Marty Hurney the GM but I don't know how much longer we the fans can take seeing the ball being run back.

I'm done grilling the offense, defense your up. I might only be 14 but I know a great linebacker from a good one and that's what the Panthers have in Jon Beason. I don't believe I can say anything bad about the guy.  Now Peppers, Carolina loves you. You made teams fear going against the Panthers defense but please WAKE UP!

This is your home. You grew up in Carolina. You even went to college at Carolina. You and Beason are the heart and soul of this Carolina defense. I'll give you one thing in the past weeks you're entire defense has improved.

+ 6 turnovers, 2 defensive touchdowns, 37 sacks, 12 interceptions, 9/20 fourth down conversions and letting up only 37 touchdowns. For those who don't get it those were the Carolina Panthers defensive stats from the dominating defense of last year.

As a whole the Panthers have performed to look more like a team than in the opening weeks. Tonight the Carolina Panthers take on the Miami Dolphins on the Thursday night game. Hopefully at the end of tonight I will be able to say the Carolina Panthers are now 5-5.
