Former New York Giants and Florida State wide receiver Travis Rudolph was reportedly charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk reported the news Wednesday, noting the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in Florida announced he was arrested after midnight in Lake Park, Florida, following a double shooting that left one victim dead and one in the hospital.

Rudolph played for the Seminoles from 2015 through 2017 but went undrafted.

He then signed with the Giants as a free agent in 2017 and appeared in seven games as a rookie. That was his only NFL action, as he suffered a torn ACL at his first practice after he later signed with the Miami Dolphins.

Rudolph signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League in 2019 but never appeared in a game.

"The organization was made aware of Travis Rudolph's arrest this morning and he has subsequently been released," Blue Bombers senior director of public and player relations Darren Cameron announced. "Rudolph was signed in December of 2019 and did not play in a game for the Blue Bombers."
