Adam Silver on Lakers' LeBron James: 'He's a Marvel in so Many Ways'

Timothy RappDec 21, 2020

Adam Silver is a big fan of LeBron James

The NBA commissioner appeared on ESPN's First Take Monday and praised the Los Angeles Lakers superstar on a variety of fronts.

"I think he's a marvel in so many ways," Silver told Stephen A. Smith (2:10 mark).

He also praised James' work ethic:

"I think one of the most important things that people in the league know but maybe a lot of fans don't, or people outside of the league, is that in addition to being arguably the best, or one of the best players in the league, he's certainly one of the hardest working. And I think that has as much to do with his longevity and the success of his career. ... I spent several weeks in the bubble. I visited a few times earlier during the restart of the season. Frankly, other than seeing him on the court, you wouldn't have known he was there. I mean, he was so focused on his game, so focused on his body and taking care of himself. That's the commitment and dedication that has enabled him to have a career as long as it's been and to continue playing at an MVP-type level at this age and with all the miles on his body."

Silver also praised James for everything he does off the court, saying he was proud of the Lakers star for his voter-registration initiatives and other community efforts and outreaches.

There's little doubt that James remains the face of the NBA and one of the greatest players of all time, if not the GOAT.
