UFC 106: Turns Out, This Is a Great Card!

This weekend is UFC 106. This just in, it is a very good card! The UFC gave us Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera for free (like they were going to go head to head with Pacman vs. Cotto), at this point that card was nothing but a warm-up to this weekend’s bouts. Fight card and quick thoughts up next.  This card has went through its share of changes, but the end result is one not to miss!

The Card

Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin

This is the return fight of the event. Tito is coming back to the UFC after a love/ hate relationship with the organization. Forrest is returning after his Matrix-esk fight against Anderson Silva.

Josh Koscheck vs Anthony Johnson

Rumble returns in less than a month time since his last fight. He has promised a highlight KO, time to back it up. Expect kos to return to his D1 wrestling pedigree and fight this one on the mat.

Amir Saddollah vs. Phil Baroni

Phil is back, he is looking to prove he is young at heart and worthy of a UFC contract. Amir is healthy and trying to prove that he is worthy of all the post TUF hype.

Liuz Cane vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

Welcome to the UFC Nog (yea, the other one)

Karo Parisyan vs. Dustin Hazelett

The heat is back with a game opponent in Hazelett, this is going to be a very good fight, assuming that Karo is mentally prepared.

Ben Saunders vs. Marcus Davis

Big-time match up that will have tons of fireworks.

Paulo Thiago vs. Jacob Volkmann

Paulo has fought two great guys since joining the UFC, this is his consolation fight.

Kendall Grove vs. Jake Rosholt

Grove is crazy tall and kicks people in the face. Jake just beat Chris Leben, time to bang!

Brock Larson (not Lesnar) vs. Brian Foster

Could be the most uninteresting fight on the card...

Caol Uno vs. Fabricio Camoes

Uno welcomes Fabricio to the UFC!

George Sotiropoulus vs. Jason Dent

Both of these guys need a win.  This means they are both going to be pushing as hard as possible.  Could equal a good fight, then again it could be the undercard fight some expect, long and boring.
