Packers' Aaron Jones Believes Aaron Rodgers Will Win 2020 NFL MVP Award

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones may be biased, but that isn't stopping him from making the case for Aaron Rodgers as the 2020 NFL MVP. 

Appearing on ESPN Radio's Keyshawn, JWill and Zubin show, Jones laid out the case for his quarterback to win the award for the third time in his career:

Heading into Week 14, the MVP race seems to be a two-man race between Rodgers and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. 

Per DraftKings, Mahomes has a significant edge in the betting odds at -500 (bet $500 to win $100) compared to Rodgers at +400 (bet $100 to win $400). 

Mahomes has the advantage over Rodgers in team record (11-1 to 9-3), passing yards (3,815 to 3,395), interceptions (two to four) and QBR (85.7 to 84.5). 

Rodgers has a slight edge in completion percentage (68.9 to 68.3) and passing touchdowns (36 to 31). 

Advanced numbers also favor Mahomes, who ranks first in defense-adjusted yards above replacement (1,643) and DVOA (40.9 percent). Rodgers is second in those categories, but the gap is wide with 1,363 DYAR and 36.3 percent DVOA.

Mahomes has one marquee game left on the schedule when the Chiefs take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 15. Rodgers' best remaining opponent is the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. 

All of the numbers add up to a close MVP race with four weeks remaining in the regular season. Rodgers certainly has a legitimate case to win, but it will likely require more work on his part to get over the hump.
