Allen Iverson: The Truth About The Answer

Iverson once said "It's a team game; Every coach says that before every game.... That's how you should play. When somebody is open, you give it up..... when you do share the ball, nine times out of 10 there is a lot more positive results come out of it." This is what Allen truly believed. Team ball is the best ball. He would do anything in his power to get the TEAM a win. People seem to get that confused with he will do anything to get Himself a win. If you have ever played to game of basketball, you should know that if the people on your team aren't connecting when you set them up....... then it's time to take over the game yourself.

Since AI entered the NBA in 1996 as the number 1 overall pick he has had to dominate games for his team to have a chance. If the 76ers had players that could have gotten the job done.... they wouldn't have had the 1st pick in the draft. Allen was "The Answer". 10 years of his heart and soul went to Philly and you know, the people I talk to from Philly are grateful for what he did for the team. They fully understand who he is and what he truly wants.

Fast Forward to this season, Memphis Grizzlies and Iverson join forces!! Like he said it feels like his rookie year all over again. He was going to a team that needed him to be what he has always been... Great! In his mind he saw a fresh start and a opportunity to mentor this young team and take a low end franchise to the top just like he did the 76ers in 2001.

Just like anything in life... if you don't get the opportunity to make a difference... how can you make a difference? If Iverson was in the military, he would demand to be on the front lines, if Iverson was on the Police force, he would be the first on the scene. He has confidence just like any person with great ability, that if I am out there... we have the best chance to win. Like the song says "Hit me with your best shot"  No team would be doing that with Allen riding the bench behind lesser talent.

If we have seen the last of A.I. in the NBA, and if he does decide to stop playing basketball all together. Please know, that it's not because he has lost any ability, it's not because he didn't have the heart to win, it's not because he is a "divo" and wants everything his way and it's not because he is a quitter. He is one of the greatest to ever put on a pair of sneaks and his determination  to be the best and for his teammates to be winner's is second to none. I believe, that given a opportunity.... He will shine brighter than ever before. Then we all will see the truth about Allen Iverson.
