NFL Playoff Picture 2020: Week 12 Wild-Card Hunt, Standings and Super Bowl Odds
The Kansas City Chiefs may have one loss, but on Sunday night, they got revenge for that lone defeat. After falling against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5, the Chiefs went on the road and notched a 35-31 win over their AFC West rival.
The Pittsburgh Steelers don't have any losses. They're the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL, and they improved to 10-0 with a 27-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
At this point, these two teams are the best in the league, and they could be battling for the No. 1 seed in the AFC down the stretch. With seven teams from each conference making the playoffs this year, the top seed carries greater importance, as only one team receives a first-round bye. The No. 2 seed will have to host a wild-card round matchup against the No. 7 seed.
There are sure to be more important races through the end of the regular season, as the wild-card picture remains tight in both conferences.
One team has already been eliminated from playoff contention, though. At 0-10, the New York Jets have no mathematical chance to reach the postseason, marking the 10th straight season they've missed the playoffs.
Here's a look at the full NFL playoff picture and the latest odds for each team to win the Super Bowl.

Ravens Currently Out of Playoff Spot in AFC
3 of 5
If the season ended today, the Ravens wouldn't be in the playoffs. Clearly, things aren't going as well in Baltimore as they were in 2019, when the team went 14-2 and cruised to the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
On Sunday, the Ravens lost to the Titans 30-24 in overtime. It was Baltimore's second straight loss and its third in its past four games. The Ravens are now in third place in the AFC North behind the Steelers and Browns, and they're going to have to get back on track to emerge from the crowded wild-card picture with a playoff spot.
Now, Baltimore has a short week to prepare for a Thanksgiving night matchup at Pittsburgh. But the Ravens' schedule will get easier down the stretch. Four of their last five regular-season games are against teams with three or fewer wins—the Cowboys, Jaguars, Giants and Bengals.
One way that Baltimore could improve? If reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson can play closer to how he did last year and provide a jolt for the offense. Through 10 games, the quarterback has passed for only 1,948 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Saints Remain in Top Spot in NFC
4 of 5
Even with quarterback Drew Brees out because of injury, the Saints stayed on a roll this week.
Taysom Hill started under center for New Orleans and led it to a 24-9 home win over Atlanta, extending its winning streak to seven. The Saints lost two of their first three games this season and haven't lost since, as they're currently 8-2 and in the top spot in the NFC.
When Brees is healthy, Hill still gets involved in the offense in various roles. As the starting quarterback against the Falcons, he passed for 233 yards and rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns—both of which came in the second half.
It's unclear when Brees may return, but if Hill builds off this showing and keeps improving as he gets more comfortable in the starting role, the Saints could end up as the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Their remaining schedule is fairly light (outside of a Week 15 matchup against the Chiefs), so they may keep their momentum going.
Who Will Come Out on Top in NFC East?
5 of 5
The Philadelphia Eagles have only three wins through the first 11 weeks of the season. And yet, they're in first place in the NFC East. Barely.
With a 3-6-1 record, Philadelphia is atop its division. But the other three teams aren't far behind, as Dallas, New York and Washington are all 3-7. None of the four have played particularly well in 2020, yet one of them will be heading to the playoffs, likely as the No. 4 seed, and will get to host a game in the wild-card round.
The Eagles may be in first place, but they were the only team in the division to lose on Sunday, as they fell to the Browns 22-17. The Cowboys beat the Vikings 31-28, Washington beat the Bengals 20-9 and the Giants were on their bye.
Perhaps one of these teams gets hot down the stretch and ends up with a decent record. Or it's quite possible that the division winner has a sub-.500 record and is just the team that outlasted the three others by not losing quite as many games. Either way, it will be an interesting race to watch.
