Aaron Boone: Yankees Clubhouse 'Like a Discotheque' After Snapping 5-Game Skid
Forgive the New York Yankees for breaking any noise ordinances Wednesday night. It's been a while since the club had something worth celebrating so aggressively.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said the clubhouse resembled a discotheque after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2 to avoid a three-game sweep. It was New York's first victory in six games and just the third in its last 11.

"It's really loud right now," outfielder Clint Frazier told reporters about the locker room. "I think they're actually about to turn the music down because it's so loud. Everyone is excited. We've wanted this moment the last couple days and to get it tonight we're definitely celebrating it and gonna try to carry it over to tomorrow."
DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres delivered the home runs early, while starter Deivi Garcia posted a quality start, going seven innings with five hits, two earned runs six strikeouts and no walks.
Most importantly, Garcia's production gave a taxed Yankees bullpen the night off. Zack Britton took over in the eighth and gave up one hit before closer Aroldis Chapman struck out all three batters he faced in the ninth with just 12 pitches.
"We were able to cash in, obviously, tonight," Boone said. "A couple of homers to kind of get us going and then some really good add-on runs there late to kind of put the game away."
The win moves New York to 22-21 on the seasonโsix games back of the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Eastโwith a four-game series against a beatable Baltimore Orioles team beginning Thursday.
The Yankees began the series against Toronto by giving up a 10-run inning in Game 1 before their own offense went cold in a 2-1 loss Tuesday. That made Wednesday's victory all the more crucial as New York fights to remain in the playoff race.
There's no question the club still desperately needs the return of Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge from the injured list, but having the two sluggers in the lineup matters little without anything to play for.
With 17 games left in the season, the Yankees are clinging to the eighth seed in the American League, and they'll gladly celebrate anything they can.
