Calling All Knicks Fans: Chant For Mike D'Antoni Firing
Last night the Knicks lost once again, no surprise to anyone. They now stand at 1-9—the second worst record in the league.
Now the question, is who to blame?
You can blame Isiah Thomas because some of his moves put us in the position we are in today. You can blame James Dolan for not being an effective owner and making sure a team from New York has a team that can compete.
While you can say all you want about Donnie Walsh, I think he STINKS! Yes he cuts cap room, but I honestly believe if we kept Crawford and Randolph last year we would have been a playoff team.
He has been talking about 2010 ever since he has come to New York and this summer after his attempt to sign Grant Hill failed, I realized how can you think you're going to sign Lebron James if you cant even sign Grant Hill. However, the worst move he has made was signing Mike D'Antoni.
While no one will argue that D'Antoni worked for the Suns, everyone will now argue that he was the worst coaching choice for the Knicks. The Suns had a star point guard in Nash and athletic forwards in Marion and Amare.
The Knicks had Curry and Randolph with D'Antoni's own Chris Duhon. He ruined Stephon Marbury's career and he is ruining the Knicks. He does not fit this team.
The Knicks should have hired Marc Jackson or someone new and given them a trial run, rather than being stuck with D'antoni.
He will never win a championship because there is no way you can win without defense. Show me one team in the league that has gone to the Championship or deep in the playoffs without superstars and defense.
In his defense, the roster he was given was sub par yet his rotations are horrific. He should not be over-playing Duhon, being so high on Gallinari, or benching Jordan Hill.
Start Toney Douglas.
Say you made a mistake with Duhon.
Play Jordan Hill.
If you're going to attract free agents let them see the players that will actually be there next year.
He is a selfish man and like all those guys who will not be there next year, I hope we have a new guy on our bench calling the shots—I for one can not take it any more!
I am calling for all fans and people who love the New York Knicks like I do to please chant, yell scream, and heckle Mike D'Antoni. Demand Donnie Walsh fire him. We need a new guy who will lead us in the future!
