NFL Midseason Report: LOST Edition
NFL Midseason Report: LOST Edition
Excited for the second half of the NFL season? Counting down the days until the premiere of the final season of LOST ? Me too! So instead of handing out the usual midseason awards, I thought I would throw a little wrinkle and use some of the best quotes of LOST to tell the story of what's happened so far in the NFL season and what might happen in the future. Enjoy.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
“Why do you find it so easy?”
“It’s never been easy.”
-John Locke and Jack Shephard
To the Cincinnati Bengals . A franchise that has suffered 20 years of misery with a few sprinkles of rip-your-heart-out defeats. They are back in contention with a 6-2 record this year and much like Locke and Jack, you have your believers and your non-believers. So which are you?
“We were not supposed to leave”
-Jack Shephard
To Jay Cutler and Terrell Owens . These guys left teams who had dissappointing ends to last season and offseason turmoil lead to them finding new homes. Both the Broncos and Cowboys are 6-2, while their new teams are struggling with little light at the end of the tunnel. TO has contributed little, and if you saw highlights of the Bears-49ers game last night, Cutler may have made too much of an impact. Unfortunately, unlike the Oceanic Six, they can't go back.
"Look, I don't know about you, but things have really sucked for me lately, and I could really use a victory. So let's get one, dude! Let's get this car started. Let's look Death in the face and say, 'Whatever, man!'"
–Hurley
To the Tennessee Titans. Entering the season with high expectations, the team lost its first six games before rolling the dice with Vince Young. They have won two straight and look to make it three this week vs. lowly Buffalo. Playoffs might be out of the question, but look for them to have a strong second half.
"We either learn to live together...or we're gonna die alone."
-Jack Shephard
To the Oakland Raiders . They can’t seem to play nice off the field or play well on it. Take Dr. Shephard’s advice and start working toward a common goal and maybe sometime in the near future you can return to respectability.
"Don't tell me what I can't do!"
-John Locke
To Peyton Manning . The guy was already great, but this season he is playing out of this universe by leading a banged up, young Colts team to an 8-0 record. Seriously, don’t tell Peyton Manning what he can’t do.
"A leader can't lead until he knows where he's going."
-John Locke
To Andy Reid. His incompetence late in games is laughable. He needs to figure these things out if he ever wants to get his always-talented Philadelphia Eagles over the hump.
“That’s why the Red Sox will never win the series.”
-Jack Shephard
To the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, St. Louis Rams, Detroit Lions, and Washington Redskins. These teams' seasons are all but over. But if the Red Sox can erase a long history of not winning the big one, maybe these teams can too. Just trying to spread a little hope for the future.
“It only ends once, everything else is just progress.”
-Jacob
To the Dallas Cowboys . A team, who for the past five years has had lofty expectations to do some serious damage in January, only to bow out very early. Is this the year? Only time will tell.
