Romo Not The Answer But What Was The Question?

This is actually in response to post about the Cowboys but I wanted to share it here as well.

Now before we begin talking about band-Wagoner’s, let us be clear. Never did I say one negative thing; in fact “fine and good” are clear indicators of acceptance of fact.

You know the great thing about America (which I served and fought for) is that everyone is free to have an opinion.

So, firstly, I have been a fan since probably before you were born. I watched Roger “the Dodger” and all who came after him (ala Troy and all who came after him) and I have bled blue and white for over 40 years. I’ve suffered through 3-13 and 1-15 and those hurt. But what really hurts is when you go 10-6, 9-7 and 13-3, respectively, and can’t win a playoff game. You can be the best quarterback in the league year in and year out but until you get past that hump, you’re a chump.

Now again, let’s be clear. This is in no way Tony Romo’s fault. That would lay on the owner of the team (and those he trusts) who continue to remain satisfied by mediocrity. Let’s see if you can remember that the Franchise of America’s Team (yes Tony Romo) went undrafted. That means 31 other GM’s, Coaches etc passed on him. Did they see something Sean Payton didn’t or better yet, what did Sean see that the 31 other GM’s Coaches, etc. didn’t? Seven Super Bowls later, we still don’t know!

Until the Cowboys bring more discipline to the team and actually employ coaches who demand more from their players (35 penalties for Flozell Adams between 2004-2007…do you think Jimmy Johnson would stand for that?) they won't get very far in the playoffs.

So to recap….huge Cowboys fan that is not big on a 6-year journeyman QB…not his fault he leads America’s Team….so let’s not blame Romo, take your complaints to Jerry.

P.S. Respect, much like love, is earned and not given because he wears a star on his helmet.

P.S.S.  Oh, and I was on the band wagon when Roger Staubach launched the "Hail Mary" 50-yard bomb to Drew Pearson against the Minnesota Vikings to win the game...when did you climb on?
