Austin 3:16 Says TNA Poised To Whoop the WWE's Ass
Good morning wrestling fans, and boy have I got a possible scoop for you.
I'm sure you are all now aware that Hulk Hogan has signed with Total Non-stop Action Wrestling , no news there.
However, this past week Hogan was on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio program. As being reported on the Wrestling Wrap-Up over at IGN.com, Hogan hinted that the Macho Man Randy Savage, as well as Stone Cold Steve Austin, have also signed with TNA.
Now what IGN's Matt Flowers means by hinted, I'm not sure he didn't quote anyone, he simply used the word "hinted" so take that for what you will.
I have a few opinions on this matter myself.
First and foremost, I take this with a grain of salt. Mostly because Hogan is the type of guy who loves to hear himself talk, and since Hulkamania died off in the mid-'90s, he's been kind of known to say things to get the spotlight.
With that said, I could see Randy Savage wanting to do this, possibly, for a pay check, and if nothing else, to prove that he's still got it, and is still a better wrestler than Hogan.
However, I saw a photo of Savage a year, or two ago from a convention of some sorts, and he was truly looking old, and out of shape, but that was a couple of years ago, and we do have some wonderful "supplements" out there to help him get into fighting form.
Now, when it comes to Austin, I highly doubt he's going to go to TNA. From all accounts I've heard Austin is quite happy with his capacity with World Wrestling Entertainmentt .
He does a movie here and there, and shows up for a big Pay-Per-View, and gets paid bank. Plus, with his knees, I wouldn't see why he'd want to climb back in the ring, especially with an Organization that he doesn't have any ties to.
Outside of Angle there isn't anyone in TNA that Austin has much history with, plus, in the absence of one of his classic sparing partners (HHH, The Rock, Bret Hart), I'm not sure how appealing Austin would be in TNA.
It's Austin though, so if he did show up that might actually get me watching TNA on a regular basis again.
So loyal reader, like I said, take this for what you will, it might be true, it might not be, but at least this takes me back to the Monday night wars of the '90s where we were all wondering who would show up on what program each week.
