With their spot on the 2010 Formula One season grid confirmed, Lotus is looking to announce their driver line-up at the end of November.

When asked about what drivers they would sign, Lotus' technical chief Mike Gascoyne said, "We are looking for two drivers with experience. We are not looking for pay drivers or new drivers. We think that is very important for the team."

Gascoyne also stated that former Toyota driver Jarno Trulli is at the top of Lotus' list.

"I've always got on well with Jarno, and know how to work with him. He enjoys working with me too, so he is definitely an option," Gascoyne said when asked about Trulli's chances with Lotus.

Apparently, Lotus is also talking to former driver for Williams and Formula One champion, Jacques Villeneuve and test driver Christian Klien.

Villeneuve said he was flattered but nothing was set in stone.

Former Toyota third driver, Kamui Kobayashi believes he might be in Lotus' sights as well.

After replacing an injured Timo Glock in the Brazilian GP and the Abu Dhabi GP, Kobayashi's prediction might not be that far off base.

All we know is that Gascoyne and Lotus aren't sitting around waiting to prepare for the 2010 season:

"We don't want to be hanging around, we want to be proactive in what we are doing, rather than reactive. That is something we want to tie up pretty soon."
