Updated Match Card, Early Predictions for WWE Crown Jewel 2019
WWE Crown Jewel on October 31 will be the fourth event the company has held in Saudi Arabia, and management has spared no expense.
Not only will we see Cain Velasquez challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, but we will also see boxer Tyson Fury step into the ring with Braun Strowman.
Saudi Arabian Superstar Mansoor will also have a match with Cesaro. Many will remember him as the man who won the 51-man Battle Royal at Super ShowDown on June 7.
Bray Wyatt will get another shot at the Universal Championship when he battles Seth Rollins in a Falls Count Anywhere match, and WWE is also advertising the largest tag team turmoil bout in history and Team Hogan vs. Team Flair.
Let's take a look at each contest and make some early predictions.
Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar
1 of 6Cain Velasquez has retired from full-time MMA competition and seems ready to transition to a life of professional wrestling after signing a multiyear deal with WWE.
His first opponent will be the same man he defeated for the UFC Heavyweight Championship in 2010 at UFC 121.
Lesnar's move to SmackDown is a big deal for the blue brand and will help it become the A-show of WWE.
Velasquez will give Lesnar one of his biggest challenges to date, but WWE is not going to put its top title on a guy who has only had a couple of matches in his professional wrestling career.
The Beast will emerge victorious, but Velasquez will get his revenge down the line.
Prediction: Lesnar retains.
Tyson Fury vs. Braun Strowman
2 of 6Unlike Velasquez, Fury is not someone who is going to make his living in a pro wrestling ring. He is still a boxer, and that makes this bout a special attraction.
This is not the first time WWE has brought in a pugilist to face one of its grapplers. Butterbean and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have both stepped into the ring to varying results.
While a win would help The Monster Among Men, WWE is not shelling out tons of money just so Fury can lose.
This will likely be a short but physical contest that ends with Fury's hand being raised, even if the result is because of a disqualification or some other kind of shenanigans.
Prediction: Fury wins.
Mansoor vs. Cesaro
3 of 6While Mansoor is not a regular fixture on NXT television, it is smart for WWE to keep featuring him at these shows in Saudi Arabia.
As the only Superstar representing the country, Mansoor can serve as an inspiration to other young athletes who wish to work for the biggest promotion in the world.
His opponent will be Cesaro, who is considered one of the best technical wrestlers in the entire company. If anyone can make Mansoor look good, it's The Swiss Cyborg.
Mansoor is going to pick up another win in his home country to keep building momentum for when WWE does decide he is ready to be a regular fixture.
Prediction: Mansoor wins.
Tag Team Turmoil Match
4 of 6WWE is hyping this bout as the biggest Tag Team Turmoil match in the company's history, and the lineup includes most of the teams on the roster.
The New Day, Heavy Machinery, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler, The Revival, The OC, Lucha House Party, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, The B-Team and The Viking Raiders will all be involved.
AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston will likely serve as ringside support along with a member of Lucha House Party. No titles are on the line, but WWE is giving the winners the right to claim the title of "best tag team in the world."
This is the hardest match to predict on the card because several of these teams could win and be deemed acceptable by the majority of fans.
Unless AOP ends up being a last-minute addition, The Viking Raiders are the most likely to win. They have been tearing through every team in the company, and losing might hurt their momentum a little.
Prediction: The Viking Raiders win.
Team Hogan vs. Team Flair
5 of 6Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair are old friends, but they still have a healthy rivalry, and this match will let them live through the generation of Superstars.
Team Flair is made up of heels, with Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura filling four of the five spots.
Team Hogan lost Rollins after it was announced he would be defending the universal title on the same night, but Ricochet and Rusev are still on the team.
The Hulkster also added Shorty G and Ali while naming Roman Reigns as his new team captain. Just looking at the competitors, it seems obvious Hogan's team has the upper hand.
If the idea is to have a sole survivor, Ali, Ricochet or Shorty G would gain the most by being the last man standing.
Prediction: Team Hogan wins.
Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt
6 of 6After the finish of Hell in a Cell earlier in October upset a lot of fans, WWE has a chance to right that wrong with a rematch between Wyatt and Rollins.
This time, The Fiend and The Beastslayer will battle in a Falls Count Anywhere match that cannot be stopped for any reason other than a pinfall or submission.
Rollins can bounce back from a loss at this point in his career, but WWE has failed Wyatt so many times that this gimmick might be his last chance to cement himself as a main event player.
This encounter will end with the masked Superstar standing over his opponent's body. Anything else would cause the WWE Universe to riot.
Prediction: Wyatt wins.
