Money Mania: WWE RAW Rewind
Tonight, for the American Fans at least, it was all about the mon-ayy! Vince McMahon made good on his promise to give away a million dollars tonight, and to prove that, his first dish would be $200,000. All the lucky winners had to know was the password (which was WWE Universe).
First Bout: Mr. Kennedy defeats Paul Burchill
The moment the bell rings, Kennedy & Burchill are going tooth and nail, with Kennedy getting the early advantage. Following a back suplex close to the turnbuckle, Burchill takes control with a series of clotheslines, but a roundhouse swings momentum in Kennedy's direction. Following a running boot to the ropes, and a series of close calls, Kennedy nails the Mic Check for the win, but is quickly confronted by Katie Lea, and ambushed by her brother once again.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Do the British love jumping from behind? Or is it just these two freakshows?
But in any event, McMahon gives away his first batch of cash, and the lucky recipient was Daniel Drummett of Desert Palms, California. But I think the crowd was happier when RAW returned from commercial and the camera panned down to front row to the die hard wrestling fanatics known as the Oakland Raiders.
Second Bout: Mickie James defeats Beth Phoenix
The match begins with Phoenix showing her raw power from the get-go. It seemed as if every move Mickie had was being countered, until a hurracanrana changed the tone of the match. Mickie hits a falling dropkick and after a diving Lou Thesz Press, she scores the upset victory.
Phoenix shows her displeasure by attacking the Women's Champion, but doesn't see rival Melina coming. Melina comes in, goes nuts on the Glamazon, and drives her face down into the mat with a Turnbuckle Faceplant.
As the Divas split, McMahon phones his second winner, and Justin Guy of Greenville, Tennessee is able to pocket $75,000.
As RAW returns, WWE Rewind shows highlights of last week's main event between John Cena and Jeff Hardy. Afterwards, Cena and Triple H are talking smack about their past. Back at ringside, McMahon is joined by Charlie Has for the third winner in McMahon's Million Dollar Mania. Haas is proven to be bad luck in the beginning, however as the first number is a pure bust.
But the next time around, Donna Rose of New Haven, Michigan scores big. She wins the initial amount, but McMahon raises the stakes by telling Haas that if he kisses the next two Divas that come out, he will have given her $125,000. Maria turns out to be the first, and Haas has no problem with that. But when Mae Young comes out, Haas has no choice as Young plants her lips on him. Ron Simmons pops out and makes everyone's thoughts clear: DAMN!
Third Bout: John Cena defeats JBL
In their third bout since Backlash, Layfield and Cena are set for action, but not before the WWE Champion takes a seat at the announcers' table.
As the bell rings, JBL takes advantage of a Triple H distraction with punches and clubbing forearms. Cena fights back with a bulldog, but JBL regains the advantage with a big boot and a swinging neckbreaker. Following an escape from the FU, Layfield slips out of the ring and shoots daggers at the WWE Champion as RAW goes to break.
Back from commercial, JBL is flat out punishing Cena with another big boot and elbow drop on the outside. Back in the ring, Cena starts to fight back, but Layfield counters with a Sleeper Hold. Cena fights out, but gets nailed again with another big boot to the skull. Following a missed Clothesline From Hell, Cena recovers and hits two shots of shoulder tackles, a pinch of the Spinout Powerbomb, and garnishes it with a 5-Knuckle Shuffle.
JBL fights out of the FU once more and nails the Clothesline From Hell, but Cena is able to get his foot on the bottom rope. JBL rolls out of the ring to shoot some more daggers to Triple H as he pulls the covering off of the announcers table. As he returns to the ring to pick up Cena, the Doctor rolls him up in a small package for the upset victory.
After the match, Cena and Triple H have yet another face to face, but this time on the announcers table. As Triple H walks away, he takes Cena's legs from out under him.
As the show returns, McMahon decides that in honor of Lilian Garcia's measurements (yes, really), he gives Stephani Green of Lafayette, Indiana $98,000. With that, Chris Jericho arrives to do the Highlight Reel with special guest Shawn Michaels.
Jericho wastes no time in getting to the point. After the series of events that has transpired between HBK, Y2J and The Animal Batista, Jericho calls his guest a spineless worm and proceeds to attack him. As HBK fights back, Jericho punts him in the groin, shoves him to the ground, and rams his face into the Jeritron 5000.
The show returns with the crowd still stunned about the events that just took place. But in the process, Umaga and Snitsky make their way to the ring for action.
Fourth Bout: Umaga & Snitsky defeat Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly
Rhodes and Snitsky start the bout with the Tag Champs getting the early advantage. But the tide turns thanks to a throat thrust from Umaga. As Snitsky misses a legdrop, Holly gets the tag to Rhodes. Rhodes throws everything at the Samoan Bulldozer, but after blocking off a series of dropkicks, Umaga nails a Reverse Bulldozer Slam, followed by a Samoan Spike for the win.
Following the match, Ted DiBiase comes out and tells the champs to get their act together because @ Night of Champions, he will be one-half of the new Tag Team Champions.
RAW returns with the fifth winner of Million Dollar Mania about to be called. But first, Trevor and Jillian Hall are in the ring having a "sing-off." Is anyone else's ears bleeding? But back to reality, Sara Fuhrmann of Keller, Texas felt more screwed than us as she became the winner of $2.00, but don't feel bad for her, though. Backstage, she was given a consolation prize as she and her family were given a free trip to New York City.
But the sixth winner set the tone for the rest of the evening. Joshua Smith of Long Beach, Mississippi won $200,000, and responded simply with: Holy $#*&!
Fifth Bout: Cryme Tyme defeat Santito
The show returns with the arrival of Santito (with one of them still embarrassed over their SmackDown! debut) and the masters of money magic. Santino and JTG start the match with a few wrestling roll ups until Shad comes in to help his partner.
After an interference by Carlito allows Santino to take control, Santito tags in and out to continue the pressure. But after a set of right hands, JTG rolls under Santino to tag in Big Shad. Following a distraction that sends Carlito to the outside, Shad nails the Brooklyn Bridge Drop for the victory.
Following the match, Cryme Tyme joins Mr. McMahon at the entrance way, and in the process, they help Will Frank of Meadville, Pennsylvania win $51,998. Still in the end, like Cryme Tyme says, "It's all about that money, money! Yeah Yeah! That Money Money! Yeah, yeah!
Back on RAW, McMahon announces that he will give away $250,000 at the end of the main event. After this announcement, John Cena makes his way to the announcers table for the main event.
Main Event: Jeff Hardy defeats Triple H via Countout
As the bell rings, Triple H grabs the early advantage until he focuses his attention on the #1 Contender. This allows Hardy to gain a quick advantage with some high flying neckbreakers, but Triple H counters the Twist of Fate with a spinebuster followed by a series of punches, Harley Race Knee Lift, and falling knee drop.
The Game uses some serious Irish Whips to continue the punishment on the Rainbow Haired Warrior, but Hardy continues to fight back. After a taunt to Cena, Triple H uses a hard right hand to drop Hardy, but Jeff keeps fighting back. After a series of punches, Hardy misses the Whisper in the Wind, which allows Triple H to send him to the outside.
After Hardy reverses an Irish Whip into the barrier, Triple H hip locks him into Cena. The Game grabs Hardy and dumps him back into the ring, but as he tries to get back into the ring, Cena grabs him from behind and launches him off the ring apron, allowing Hardy to pick up the countout victory.
As the two Night of Champions opponents prepare to lock horns, Jeff Hardy soars over the top rope and lands on the two men to add an exclamation point to his victory.
But the final business of the night was finding the eighth and final winner of tonight's Million Dollar Mania. With that, Steve Rosenzweig of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin got the last of the cash...or so we thought. McMahon went on to announce that he will do it all over again next week because he will give away another $1 Million Dollars!
Sorry Canada and Mexico. Your nightmare continues next week. But at least you get some good WWE RAW action in the process, right?
