Ohio State VS Penn State: BCS Or Bust
Yes, the Ohio State offense has been having some problems this season, and yes, they are going up against the best defense they have faced all season long. Remember, though, after that DREADFUL performance against Purdue, their offense has actually seemed half-way decent. The buckeye's offense hasn't benn completley exposed as a joke since that game, but then again they haven't played the best teams. This is a real head-scratcher. What OSU offense will show up? The offense we saw get pasted against USC and Purdue, or the one that has put up over 400 yards of offense in the last couple games. That question may, and probably will, decide the game.
What about Penn State? Yes, they have been exposed against Iowa, and yes, Darryll Clark has performed very poorly against top 50 defenses in his career at Penn State. They have a well rounded defense, almost as good as Ohio State's. They have a QB in Clark who can out-throw Terrelle Pryor any day but would get out-run by Pryor any day as well. Hm...
This seems to be a great matchup. A good offense in Penn State against a red-hot defense in Ohio State. Who wins that matchup? Ohio State's defense. I just think they are a great defensive team. A FANTASTIC D-Line, a good secondary, and voracious line backers. Kurt Coleman is a real player forcing fumbles, breaking up passes, and picking QBs off.
What about the questionable Ohio State offense matching up against the solid Penn State D? Who wins that matchup? I have to pick PSU. They just outgain this puzzling Buckeye offense. Although Ohio State has shown improvment, they aren't going to be ready enough for Penn State.
The final question: WHO WINS THE GAME? Let's see, Ohio State wins at defense and returing punts and kicks while they also lose at offense and the kicking game. It really hurts OSU with kicker Aaron Pettrey being out. If he was in, Ohio State would probably win the kicking portion of this game too. But he is not in. So... who wins?
I pick: Penn State. Ohio State still has a great chance of winning and may do so. I just think Pryor, with so much pressure and turn over problems, won't come through for the buckeyes. This paisn me for I am an Ohio State fan, but I don't see Ohio State coming through. I may be picking PSU because Ohio State is just a hard team to root for with questionable play calling and an unreliable offense.
This will be a real nail-biter, and it will be decided by only a few plays. My advice to you: watch the game, it will be very interesting. My advice to you if you are an Ohio State fan: hide in a closet during the game and wait for it to pass over and be ready to possibly be very agrivated when you find out Penn State won or be ready to party your butt off after Ohio State possibly wins.
This will be very close!!!!!
