Power Rankings and Political Ramification

Dominick DominckNov 4, 2009

Saints 1. (Last week, 1) 7-0 Huge plays on defense picking off Ryan 3 times and the Saints hold off the Falcons to tie their best start 7-0.

Colts 2. (3) 7-0 The Colts easy schedule is getting a bit harder, they very easily could have lost to the 49ers.

Vikings 3. (6) 7-1 Farve can decide when he wants to retire and quite frankly I am happy he stuck it to the booing classless fans. Do they remember what this guy has done for them?

Broncos 4. (2) 6-1-0 It will be interesting to see how the Broncos respond to their first loss

Patriots 5. (4) 5-2-0 The Patriots had two weeks to prepare for the Wild Cat… It’s a must win, because then they have Colts, Jets and Saints.

Steelers 6. (5) 5-2-0 Coming off a bye week the Steelers are headed to Denver. Roethlisberger already has over 2062 yds passing, but the Broncos still have a healthy Champ Bailey roaming the secondary.

Eagles 7. (10) 5-2-0 Looks like they recovered nicely from the Oakland loss. The Eagles have won 4 of the last 6 meeting with the Cowboys including the 44-6 stomping during their last meeting.

Cowboys 8. (8) 5-2-0 The Cowboys have but together an impressive offense and they will need it when they seek revenge in Philly. Their number one receiver Miles Austin has over 500yds and 6 tds already.

Benglas 9. (7) 5-2-0 Cedric Benson has 720 yards rushing so far this year and the Bengals have the #5 ranked rush defense.

Ravens 10. (16) 4-3-0 The Ravens defense had a huge game against Kyle Orton, now they have to do it against the high flying Bengals and their running back.

Texans 11. (13) 5-3-0 The Texans have won 3 in a row and now face the Colts without Owen Daniels.

Falcons 12. (11) 4-3 After two tough losses to two tough teams they have the Redskins. They have to make a statement.

Dolphins 13. (18) 3-4 They better show better offense against the Patriots, they won’t let Ginn Jr. run wild.

Bears 14. (21) 4-3 Let’s see what the Bears do against a team with a winning record, they had a solid running game by Forte. The Cardinals had a good rush defense but it collapsed against the Panthers.

49ers 15. (18) 3-4 Great defensive effort the last game and pretty good performance by Alex Smith.

Packers 16. (12) 4-3 Aaron Rodgers has been sacked over 30 times, they better figure it out against Tampa.

Giants 17. (14) 5-3 The Giants won a couple games on deflected passes for interceptions, for first downs and for touchdowns. They could very easily be 3-5.

Chargers 18. (17) 4-3 San Diego has beat up on some teams with losing records, they will be tested at Giant Stadium.

Jets 19. (15) 4-4 I don’t blame coach Ryan for this loss. It wasn’t him that missed the tackle on Ted Ginn Jr’s TWO 100 kickoff returns.

Cardinals 20. (9) 4-3 Still the Cardinals have not lost a road game this year.

Bills 21. (20) 3-5 There is no reason that a professional football team should have this many penalties, they lead the league.

Panthers 22. (24) 3-4 A big win for the Panthers and that’s what happens when Delhomme doesn’t turn the ball over.

Seahawks 23. (23) 2-5 Detroit is coming to town, despite the injuries the Seahawks should come out on top.

Jaguars 24. (22) 3-4 Johnson rushed for 228 yards which was a record against the Jaguars.

Titans 25. (31) 1-6 Vince Young had a great game completing most of his passes and more importantly he wasn’t sacked or intercepted once.

Raiders 26. (25) 2-6 The angry Cable guy has been a distraction

Redskins 27. (28) 2-5 Redskins are @ the Falcons this week, Snyder has announced that the 100th person that calls his office gets to call plays on Sunday.

Cheifs 28. (27) 1-6 I like that KC will be playing without Larry Johnson, coming off a bye week I am eager to see what happens.

Rams 29. (32) 1-6 Steven Jackson is playing very well considering the record they have.

Lions 30. (26) 1-6 You lose to the Rams?

Browns 31. (29) 1-7 I am not a fan of 2nd guessing, but I did say it before that Brady should be the starting qb. It wasn’t the QB's fault and they should see what kind of QB he will be.

Bucs 32. (30) 0-7 They promised change, a new direction and a brighter future, hmmmm sounds oddly familiar. Getting rid of Jon Gruden has proven to be a disaster.

President Obama 33. Obama’s Referendum - As a Moderate I usually don’t mix politics into sports, but last night’s referendum on President Obama’s policies is just too big not to mention. President Clinton claimed that Virginia and New Jersey was a referendum on Obama and his policies. It did not turn out so well for Obama or his future policies. Obama had campaigned his socks off in VA and NJ and should be embarrassed by the results. While I am not happy he is embarrassed, I am happy with the election results. His economic policies are the worst of my lifetime and if he continues the democratic congress’ policies that have gave us this big heaping pile of mess I hope he pays in 2010. Finally, I hope these embarrassing losses makes this “pragmatic” president break away from the harmful far left policies that have wrecked this economy and adopt a moderate approach. I climb off my soap box.
