Joel Embiid has had since Sunday's heartbreaking loss to the Toronto Raptors in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals to regroup, and the Philadelphia 76ers All-Star is ready to shift his focus to next season.

"Hell of a season," Embiid wrote on Twitter Wednesday evening. "Proud of my guys and I appreciate all the support you guys gave us all season long. Extremely disappointed and fell short of our goal but this is the motivation I needed and best believe I'll be BACK EVEN BETTER AND STRONGER #TheProcess."

Moments after Kawhi Leonard improbably made the first series-winning Game 7 buzzer-beater in NBA history over an outstretched Embiiid to eliminate the Sixers, Embiid was distraught and in tears as he left the court:

Sixers head coach Brett Brown commented on his star's emotions while meeting with reporters after the loss in Toronto.

"To see him have the emotion that he has ... it is painful for all of us, but ...  he'll look in the rearview mirror and remember this," Brown said, in part. "He will come out better and smarter and stronger."

It took a few extra days for Embiid to process, but the 7-footer now shares the same perspective as his coach.

Embiid will take momentum from posting career highs in points (27.5 per game), rebounds (13.6) and assists (3.7) with him into the 2019-20 season.
