2019 PGA Championship Odds: Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka Even Betting Favorites
Tiger Woods is a frontrunner to follow up his Masters victory at the PGA Championship this weekend.
According to Caesars, Woods and Brooks Koepka are the betting favorites at 8-1 odds:
Koepka is the defending champion, of course, while Woods finished as the runner-up last year.
Other notable odds include Bubba Watson (50-1), Jason Day (25-1), Jordan Spieth (50-1), Justin Rose (20-1), Matt Kuchar (40-1), Patrick Cantlay (35-1), Phil Mickelson (50-1), Sergio Garcia (40-1), Tommy Fleetwood (30-1), Tony Finau (25-1) and Xander Schauffele (22-1).
Woods, 43, has been golf's biggest story this season after winning his first major since 2008 with his fifth Masters title in April. For Woods, who was once the game's most dominant player before scandals and injuries left him as a shell of his former self on the golf course, it was a long time coming.
Winning a second major in 2019 would change the narrative of Woods from an amazing comeback story, however, to one who could perhaps again challenge Jack Nicklaus' 18 majors. Woods currently sits on 15, and early in his career it seemed a mere formality that he would pass Nicklaus. Now, it's less of a certainty, though a victory at Bethpage would rekindle that conversation.
Koepka will have something to say about that. Last year's winner has four top-10 finishes this year, including finishing second at the Masters, and is a good bet to be in the running this weekend. And two-time winner McIlroy is always a threat at the PGA Championship as well.
But all eyes will be on Woods. As usual.
