Kareem Hunt was given a second chance with the Cleveland Browns, and he says he won't let it go to waste.

The running back was released by the Kansas City Chiefs last November after a video surfaced of him shoving and kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel in February 2018.

Now with the Browns, he wants to make a fresh start.

"I've got to earn everybody's trust," Hunt said Wednesday, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

The 23-year-old also said that he's currently undergoing counseling twice a week and plans to get baptized this Sunday, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.

When asked to explain the situation, Hunt declined and admitted that he hasn't reached out to the victim, but he would apologize if given the chance.

"If I was to see her, I'd apologize to her," he said, per Kimberley A. Martin of Yahoo Sports.

He also said that he worked to better himself as a person before being signed:

Hunt had established himself as one of the top running backs in the NFL during his first two seasons. He led the league in rushing yards as a rookie and was on his way to another Pro Bowl season before his release.

Although he was signed by the Browns, he will be suspended without pay for the first eight games of the 2019 season.
