Ben Zobrist on Leave from Cubs Amid Divorce Proceedings with Wife Julianna
Chicago Cubs utilityman Ben Zobrist hasn’t played since a May 7 victory over the Miami Marlins because of a personal leave of absence and is reportedly getting divorced.
ESPN.com cited court documents that revealed Zobrist and his wife, Julianna, are going through divorce proceedings. Julianna is listed as the plaintiff on the documents.
"No indication," manager Joe Maddon said when asked when Zobrist would return. "I texted with him the other day and reminded him how much I care about him, how much we miss him."
