Jadon Sancho '50/50' on Leaving Borussia Dortmund to Join Manchester United

Jadon Sancho is said to be "50/50" on leaving Borussia Dortmund to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to David Ornstein at BBC Sport:

The England international had been "nailed on" to move to Old Trafford, but is reluctant to give up UEFA Champions League football and is concerned about the possibility of joining an unstable club.

According to Ornstein, United would be his "preferred option," and the Red Devils would have to spend "in excess of £100 million" to bring him back to the Premier League.

United are the only Premier League club to have shown an interest, but Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Barcelona are also said to be keen on the 19-year-old.

Sancho has enjoyed a brilliant campaign with Dortmund, scoring 11 goals and contributing 14 assists in 33 Bundesliga outings.

Sancho would be an exciting signing for a United side badly in need of inspiration after a turbulent campaign. The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League, a distant 32 points behind champions Manchester City.

The teenager would also fill a need in the squad, as the Red Devils lack a natural right winger and have been forced to use Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata in that position this season without consistent success.

Yet convincing Sancho to swap Dortmund for United will not be easy.

Meanwhile, United lost their last home game of the season to relegated Cardiff City and will play in the Europa League next season.

They could even be set for a very early start to their season if Watford beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final, as explained by ESPN FC's Dale Johnson:

Solskjaer enjoyed a strong start to his time as caretaker manager, but the club's form dropped off dramatically after he was given the job on a permanent basis in March.

United won just two of their last seven Premier League games, leading Solskjaer to claim it will take the club "a long time" to fight for the title again, per BBC Sport.

There is no doubt that Sancho would be an exciting acquisition, but the club may have their work cut out convincing him that Old Trafford is the best place for him to be next season.
