Arsenal: Alexandre Song Signs On, Plus Other News
Arsenal fans have a lot of news today, starting with Alexandre Song signing a contract extension.
Alex Song didn't have the best of starts, and I remember a time when our fans disgracefully booed him against Fulham in the 2006-07 when we lost 2-1.
Since then, he has gone to Charlton on loan, come back and played pretty steadily in the centre of defense and looked pretty good.

So, that is fantastic news that he has signed the proverbial "long-term contract", like Bacary Sagna. So, I suppose that their contracts run until 2014, like Cesc Fabregas'.
In other news, the tabloids are suggesting that Aaron Ramsey is favouring Arsenal over Manchester United and Everton after meeting Arsene Wenger in Switzerland. How tabloids are able to get such information is beyond me, unless they have some sort of telepathic powers.
So on that front, don't expect much until the next 48 hours, which is apparently the deadline set by Cardiff City for him to sign for any of the three clubs. While I would love for Arsenal to sign yet another talented youngster, I would like the 5 million pounds to be spent elsewhere. Then again, something is better than nothing!
I'm sure that most of you read the article on BBC in which Arsene Wenger said that he's at the Euro 2008 with his cheque-book. He's never that forth-coming in terms of transfers, so it will be interesting to see whether he identifies any players that interest him at the Euro Championships.
Carlos Vela managed to get himself on the score-sheet in a friendly for Mexico against Peru. It's fantastic to see that he's going along well at the international level before he links up with Arsenal for pre-season training.
As I mentioned a few days ago, Eduardo da Silva is well on track to recovery and is expected to be fully fit for the start of next season. This was reaffirmed by his Croatia coach, Slaven Bilic.
That said, don't hold your breath because Wenger will be very cautious with Dudu and won't rush him back until the start of the Carling Cup.
This article has been "bloggish," but, I like to share some good news with Arsenal fans. I'm sure that you guys like to have some decent, reliable news to read.
So, hopefully most of what I've mentioned before and today are true!
