The first mistake was having an owner for a GM. The second mistake was going with a west coast offense despite the complete lack of personnel to run it. WRs Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly stood up for QB Jason Campbell by blaming the team's problems on the offensive line. Apparently, neither thought to blame himself for the fact that Campbell has too few open receivers to throw to when he drops back to pass. Read it.

The Redskins signed FB Eddie Williams to the active roster and OT Clint Oldenburg to the practice squad. Williams was a 7th round pick [221 overall] and will now presumably see some work on special teams. Oldenburg is some guy I never heard of and neither have you. The roster spot became available when OT Chris Samuels went on injured reserve. Read it.

Thom Loverro compares the fortunes of D.C.'s two pitiful pro sports franchises, the Redskins and the Nationals. They're both terrible, but at least the Nats haven't spent a fortune to achieve it. The Redskins need to fire Vinny Cerrato, but even that won't be enough, he warns.
