Top 25 Week 10 From an Oregon Perspective

Fletcher JohnsonNov 1, 2009

The top teams looked a little bit better this week with Oregon making it virtually certain that USC won't win a Pac-10 championship.

1. Texas

The Longhorns have an impressive win over Oklahoma State in Stillwater and should be favored in the rest of their games.

2. Florida

Florida beats up on a suddenly hapless Georgia team.

3. Alabama

LSU comes calling this Saturday in what should be a very interesting game.

4. TCU

The TCU defense is very impressive, but they still have a game against Utah in the future.

5. Oregon

The Ducks jump up to number five by giving the USC Trojans their worst loss in the Pete Carroll era, as well as the second most yards ever given up by the Trojans, 613.

6. Cincinnati

The Bearcats continue to impress even without quarterback Tony Pike.

7. Boise State

The Broncos win over Oregon looks impressive, but nothing else on their schedule will give them any boost.

8. Louisiana State

With a win this Saturday, the Tigers could jump back into the BCS picture for a possible at-large berth.

9. Iowa

The Hawkeyes have trailed in every game except one this year.  That's a testament to their character, but also a sign that this team probably isn't the real deal heading into back to back games against a sneaky Northwestern team and Ohio State in Columbus.

10. Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech looks good in the ACC and should cruise through the rest of the regular season.

11. USC

What is going on in La-la land?!  The Trojans still have to play a dangerous Arizona team.  Could the Trojans end up in the Sun Bowl, its possible.

12. Penn State

If Penn State can beat Ohio State and have Iowa drop a game, the Nittany Lions would once again be in the driver seat in the Big 10

13. Utah

With their only loss coming to Oregon, Utah hopes to not overlook New Mexico in anticipation of a match-up with TCU on November 14th.

14. Pittsburgh

The Panthers are waiting for their chance at Cincinnati on December 5th, but first, Notre Dame.

15. Ohio State

The Buckeyes played a WAC team in the middle of the season?!  That's ridiculous.

16. Arizona

Arizona has looked good so far, but USC, Cal, and Oregon remain on the schedule.

17. Houston

After struggling with Wyoming, the once hot Cougars most likely will take the Conference-USA title and nothing more.

18. Miami (FL)

The Hurricanes escape from Wake with a late drive, but this team is still a ways from competing at the highest level.

19. California

Cal has responded nicely after being destroyed by the Trojans and Ducks.  The Bears travel to Arizona on November 14th in what should be an interesting match-up in the Pac-10.

20. Texas Tech

Lets hope we can keep the "Fat girlfriends" out of the way huh?

21. Wisconsin

The Badgers are another team that has recovered nicely after back to back losses to Ohio State and Iowa.

22. Oklahoma

What a big difference a dominant offensive line and Sam Bradford makes.  Too bad both of those eras are over.

23. Virginia Tech

The Hokies just haven't had the offense to get the job done lately and turning the ball over on the last drive was the straw that broke the camel's back.

24. South Florida

The Bulls continue to hang around the top 25 with a win over West Virginia.

25. Oklahoma State

The Cowboys looked terrible against Texas Saturday night.  No Kendall Hunter or Dez Bryant has hurt this team, which is no surprise.
